Yellow soft paraffin - update
Thank you everyone for your comments about the
paraffin
cream. I queried their usage of it and one of the nurses followed through, checked with pharmacy, and now Southampton General will NOT be using yellow
paraffin
for patients on oxygen!

Yellow soft paraffin BP
Yellow soft
paraffin
BP can be used as a lip salve when using oxygen. It is fantastic, the closest I've come to a lip balm and very effective. I've been given it in Southampton respiratory Centre, so it really is ok to use.

Made it through! An update.
My brain is foggy and often come out with random words like saying
paraffin
instead of toothpaste! After 2 weeks my husband drove me to our local park where I managed to walk a couple of hundred yards. That's it for me for now, but will try to do this daily. My advice?

Holby Sh*tty - Episode 3 a.k.a. When Winnie the Poop met Wind in the Pillows...
I was fearing the dreaded raspberry flavoured liquid
paraffin
from last year and how it spontaneously leaked out the same way as it went in. It was etched on my memory - and much of my underwear.

10 months on - Redness caused by irritant (not allergen) very slowly going away
Initially prescribed was 50/50
paraffin
and later mometasone furoate (steroid cream), and tablets which didn't help speed up the process - the colour was getting very slowly less but still red.

Oxygen and creams
As most of you will know 99% of moisturisers contain
paraffin
. Which is a definite NO when using oxygen. Most chemists I have spoken to recommend KY jelly. But it doesn't work. Many thanks.

Arthritis of the hands
My fistula arm often seizes & spasms on me & since using hot
paraffin
wax I honestly say these issues have reduced a considerable amount! I honestly did not know before the benefits of having a manicure with hot
paraffin
wax & hand massage!

Beeswax candles and benefits
Please don't use
paraffin
candles! If you have any lung issues or just want to live longer don't use
paraffin
, it is toxic. I would suggest beeswax candles.

Head cuts not healing, tips?
Tried
paraffin
based cream, emollient cream (contains almond oil and lanolin). Also tea tree oil. Also taking folic acid, no joy. As I say minor irritation but would welcome any tips to encourage healing as it detracts from my handsome good looks😂😂 UK Sparky

Dyshidrotic Ezcema, how to manage it?!
My saving graces (after so many trial and errors) are Gold Cross Soft White
Paraffin
Cream and Diprosone Ointment (any other cream stings or makes my skin worse; and other ointments are't strong enough) and a healthy double dose of Fexofenadine (180mg x2/day, to try and keep my IGE level of 18000 controlled

Liquid Paraffin alert!
So, while in hospital last week I was given raspberry flavoured liquid
paraffin
three times a day as my bowel was blocked. It tasted like toxic waste and not raspberries at all.

Help ! with refusal taking liquid paraffin
My 9yo has been just given liquid
paraffin
after being put on dairy / soya free diet. She has tried on its own and in oat milk and just won't take it. I've suggested using smoothie. Now she's refusing to take it at all. She has ADHD and just shouts and screams when I try to pursuade her.

Finally, a 2015 study [4]: "Men undergoing radical prostatectomy for the treatment of localized disease provided a food frequency questionnaire (n = 68), fasting blood (n = 35), benign fresh frozen prostate tissue (n = 26), and formalin-fixed
paraffin
-embedded (FFPE) sections (n = 67)."
