Tips on explaining chronic pain to family?
I was trying to defend myself as they questioned everything: my diagnoses, symptoms, doctors,
pain
itself, etc. :( The whole thing was really sad, so I’m wondering if anyone here has any tips (or good resources to send to people) so that they might better understand chronic
pain
, treatment for it, etc

Restless Legs and treatment with only morfin ?
Then it happened that she had a collapse in her back with excruciating
pain
. Her doctor prescribed morphine tablets and a single sleeping pill. And what happened? My mother could now sleep up to 5 - 6 hours a night. We got our old mother back.

After the
pain
subsided and the blood loss stopped, I was allowed home on the fourth day. I feel really alone and frightened. I have always been so active but the exhaustion is so bad. I just want to get back to normal.

I’ve had 3 Kyphoplasty’s but have refused any pharmaceutical intervention prescribed for bone density issues; tried and can’t/don’t take
pain
medication. My last DEXA was in 2022. -3.5 spine -3.2 hips.

Second opinion Dr implies no Endo!
My main concern is that some months, my periods are very heavy and unbearable, and can stop my daily activities for a few days and the
pain
can be bad. But then other months I am absolutely fine - zero
pain
, even if the bleeding is heavy, but doesn’t stop my daily activities.

About a year ago i started getting
pain

So fed up
Back aches, neck aches, knee
pain
and now I can't use my right arm as my shoulder joint is extremely painful. I've tried cod liver oil along with other supplements which the name of them escapes me at the mo, yes I'm also losing my memory.

Pain
. Shock. Nausea. Yuc!!! Later that evening it dawned on me that my 12.5k long run would not be happening in the morning. In fact a lot of things have been off the agenda - including typing - as I'm right handed and my right had has been well and truly neutralised!

A reply to Wasabigirl’s post about PID (?) which has since been deleted
I kept saying that the
pain
would return after I went off the antibiotics. Doctors said that the only way that could happen is if it were an abscess - and I’d be dead if it had been an abscess.

Aspirin-induced gastritis and gastrointestinal bleeding
Over the last couple years I’ve lived with stomach
pain
. Often just a two out of 10
pain
level but it always was there, and sometimes 10 out of 10 with cramping. Sometimes i took painkillers just to deal with my stomach
pain
. At her suggestion I had an endoscopy three weeks ago.

Laparoscopy Went Well
- If everything went according to plan then I'd continue with my normal 2mg dose today...... and that is what I plan to do as I'm feeling really good, with little
pain
from the wound sites and feeling no necessity to increase my daily dose of prednisolone.

Not goodbye
After taking three different
pain
killers, doing daily physio and 9 weeks off work, I am now on the mend and my movement is nearly back to normal. My physio says running is not off the cards completely but obviously for now the physio, pilates and walks are all I need and should be doing.
