ABLATION: Costs and Paths to having Ablation carried out. NHS or PRIVATE.
Atrial fibrillation develops when electrical impulses in the heart are fired chaotically by tissue in the organ’s upper chambers, the right and left atrium, overriding the heart’s natural
pacemaker
. Symptoms include dizziness, shortness of breath and tiredness.

Bradycardia, sleep apnea and now AFib
The test results showed my heart was strong with no blockage or issues at all but suggested a
pacemaker
will eventually be needed.

Need advice re pacemaker.
A
pacemaker
has been mentioned & from what I read it seems to be a low risk, highly beneficial intervention. I need to hear what others think, pros and cons. If it's so great why dont they do it sooner? I'm 73. Thanks for any in help you can offer!

Questions about my mother's AF
She already had a
pacemaker
, which had been fitted over 10 years ago for sinoatrial disease. At the time of her AF diagnosis she was put on 5mg Apixiban per day. She was already on 40mg Furosemide for high blood pressure, 30mg Lansoprazole for Acid reflux and 125mcg Levothyroxine for her thyroid.

Post pacemaker implant pain
I had my 3 wire
pacemaker
installed in January 2019 after being admitted as an emergency with total heart block in the New Year. The procedure was ok but I am still feeling discomfort after 4 months and can’t sleep on my left side and still getting twinges of pain when I move my left arm.

Atrial fibrillation after crt-d implant
I had previously had a
pacemaker
for 8.5 years. My EF went down towards end of last year so decision was made to get an upgrade. In the first 1.5 weeks I felt good. Recovering from surgery.

Cardiac devices in airport security - make sure you carry your card!
I flew to London last week and, for the first time in a UK airport, was asked to show my
pacemaker
/defibrillator card at security.

A breakthrough at parkrun
I gauged my pace to a guy ahead and he was running at my easy gear, after a mile I was though the toxic 10 and so up went my pace all by itself, I was now closing on my
pacemaker
and feeling great. Spent that mile overtaking people slowly.

Hello, I have so many irregular heartbeats including AF, SVT and several others, so my cardio guy now says he thinks the best idea for me is a
pacemaker
. Has anyone, on here, had one fitted? I'm seeing the cardio guy on May 1st for more info but he is a man of few words :-( Thank you :-)

Can I use a Kardia?
Having seen a number of references to Kardia I looked at the website and found that they are not recommended for someone with a
Pacemaker
. As my readings with a cuff fluctuate wildly when in AF it would be interesting to get the Kardia results....Does anyone know why its a nono?

SVT
Hi, I suffer from frequent Episodes of SVT & on occasions a resting heart rate as low as 34 bpm, what is the likelihood of being fitted with a
pacemaker
? I'm feeling impatient waiting for results etc.

Swollen glands...why?
Pacemaker
- I'm thinking it may be nerve damage and lowered immune system. Imaging suggest no lymphoma. ENT, neurologist, maxilo facial and facial pain specialists cannot explain. Suggestions?

Young Adult with Cardiac Arrest
I did receive a
pacemaker
on Sept 24th. I had a complete halt to my heart beating for 24 seconds after a 3.5 second pause. It still is scary. I have lost some friendships due to the mental (PTSD) side of getting through what happened.
