Bicuspid valve and hospital stay.
I was so I'll they was deciding to replace my valve, a part of my aorta and give me a
pacemaker
. I spent two weeks in hospital. No surgery. Many tests. On my discharge after all my meds were changed. It said impression heart decompensation. Changes to my AV on my stress test.

Postural/orthostatic Hypotension
I have now found an article where these symptoms were relieved completely by their EP adjusting their
PaceMaker
Rate Response sensitivity & told to tap their
Pacemaker
to simulate activity & speed up their HR for 10 minutes whenever they felt dizziness!

Update and Plan
He said worst case scenario, if it just gets worse and worse, he could do an AV node ablation and
pacemaker
, but that is obviously his last choice for options. He seemed to understand that the meds may just be a stop gap and that ultimately, I will be back in the EP lab.

An Eventful January
Week 4 - Monday,
Pacemaker
pre-op. Tuesday, new
pacemaker
to be fitted, looking forward to having the op done and dusted. Although I have this nagging doubt that something will come up in the pre-op that may delay things.

Slow heart rate
One electrophysiologist wants me to have a
pacemaker
and another (for a second opinion) says I don't need one. I function very well during the day, have a good night's sleep and am not fatigued.

Replacement pacemaker lead
Is the recovery time similar to that of having a
pacemaker
put in? I’m a teacher and wondering when I could go back into work. I also run and would like to know how long I should leave it before exercising again. And finally, is it another month off driving? thanks all.

pacemaker question
my uncle is doing very well but getting odd shocks and tonight had a strong one. He said it’s still tender, he does have AF so would expect him to get shocks. He is only 9 months post double bypass and valve repair. He is trying to walk but weather hasn’t helped. He’s got a 24 hour monitor on Sunday

Swapping Rasagiline for Safinamide - Hobson’s Choice or out of the frying pan and into the fire?
I have a
pacemaker
and take Atorvastatin and Ramipril for heart issues. Now the pharmacy says Rasagiline is in short supply in the UK and likely to become unobtainable.

Low Heart Rate
I think I may be a candidate for a
pacemaker
after all. But I had excellent advice from everyone and I will discuss all my options. I don't have any dizziness thank goodness but the low energy makes me very lazy and just not feeling myself. Feeling a bit down.😔

AV nodeablation!
The only thing that puts me off is the fact that I will be totally reliant on the
pacemaker
! Thoughts please!

Just been fitted with two lead
pacemaker
. Diagnosed with Tachy/brady and also put on sotalol beta blockers. Everybody keeps saying I should feel so much better but I don't. I am just left with no energy. I am usually very fit.

pacemaker and a Fitbit
Last Thursday I had a
pacemaker
fitted and during the operation I asked the nurse who was chatting to me if I could continue wearing a Fitbit. She reassured me I could except I had read contradicting advice on various websites.

Over 2 Litres or Not???
I am getting a
pacemaker
and defrillator on Wednesday, cant wait till it's over, i've never been anywhere near an operating theatre in my life, but that's beside the point. My problems were discovered 2 months and i was immediately put on the 2 litres of fluids a day.

Also recently been prescribed bisoporol again, will the
pacemaker
settings need to be tweaked to take into account a decrease in HR?

Induction Hobs
I read on the manual that people with a
pacemaker
or other electrical appliance fitted must not use an induction hob. I have two mechanical (St Judes) valves, fitted in 2021. Am I alright to use this hob, or do I need to purchase a different type of hob?

I have had a
pacemaker
fitted and had to have it without sedation. But staff talk to me all the time to distract me, and it really helped.. I have bad shoulders, and I’m not sure I can hold my arms above my head for the required time. Are your arms outstretched?
