New Pacemaker Tomorrow
Hi, I’m having a new
pacemaker
tomorrow and can’t take my own advice about looking ahead instead of dwelling on the procedure! Why is it so hard to do the sensible things like not stressing about it?

Pacemaker for atrial fibrillation
My AF causes me to have fast heart rates which are not controlled by maximum dose of Bisoprolol 10 mg a day. Being 87 years of age and after one catheter ablation which only gave me 4-5 months of sinus rhythm it’s been decided to do a pace and ablate procedure next week. My worry is whether my symptoms

Possible AV node ablation due to conflict between my pacemaker and my own cardiac electric circuit. Pacemaker for complete heart block.
If I have the ablation then I will be 100% dependant on the
pacemaker
. Is there by chance anyone who has had or having this difficult decision to make.

AV Node Ablation- anyone’s experiences please
Pacemaker
fitted earlier this year- a three lead one which has stopped the sinus pauses I was having long pauses and bradycardia. My consultant has been talking to me for years about having an AV node ablation but I am really scared of this knowing my heart beats on a
pacemaker
only.

Kardia with Pacemaker
However, the Cardiologist said the Kardia does not pick up all the rhythms/waves or whatever when there is a
pacemaker
and that I was still in Permanent AF. Can anyone explain this to me, please?

Eliquis and Pacemaker procedure
I am having a
pacemaker
installed and am fearful of going off Eliquis. I know I will bleed less Nd this is good, however I have been having frequent afib and have a strong family history of stroke, having lost two siblings in last two years.

Are you able to get on the kidney transplant list if you have a pacemaker?
Does anyone know if you are not qualified for a kidney transplant if you have a
pacemaker
for sick sinus syndrome?

Pacemaker interrogation
I had my first PM interrogation yesterday. They changed my lower rate from 60bpm up to 65bpm to help with the shortness of breath. Very annoyed at how little info they were willing to share !! I had to keep pumping them with questions most annoying that they didn't involve ME in their interrogation

Not sure if I had a heart attack
I have a
pacemaker
for bradycardia and on cartia to keep the heart from beating too fast. Was that mid November episode a heart attack? What should I expect when I see the electrophysiologist?

I thought my

controlled my heart rate between my parameters set by the technicians, since found out the

only controls the lower setting

Finally took the plunge and started a self-trial of Levothryoxine (after 12 months procrastination)
I can't understand the "do no harm" mantra of our doctors in cases like this, because I've been subjected to so many invasive tests and threatened with a
pacemaker
, perhaps in time they will prove to be unnecessary. I'm well read, informed, careful and considerate when it comes to my health care.

Another diagnosis plan
Heart and BP can be sorted with meds, and maybe
pacemaker
later down the road. Utterly exhausted, and as much as I can lay down/fall down every 20 minutes I could do with a bludy good restful holiday after all this 😀 (with maybe a wine or two?!?)

Pacemaker upper rate control
I always was led to believe that my
pacemaker
would control my rate to it’s upper level of 120. I have now been informed that the
pacemaker
only stops the heart rate going lower than 60. My pulse is still high for me, high 80’s when before I stopped the beta blockers it stayed at 60 .

18-month update - my linear weight-loss and maintenance.
It might be a coincidence that it was when they inserted an additional atrial lead and a replacement
pacemaker
. I now walk 30 to 45 km per week. If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.

Anyone have Cardiac Sarcoidosis?
I have a
pacemaker
, two ablations and 5 or six cardioversions under my belt. I also have a lot of undiagnosed symptoms that, according to my research, are explained by Cardiac Sarcoidosis that I am able to control myself with Prednisone, Nitroglycerin and Lyrica.
