How to go through airport security with a pacemaker/ICD?
They prefer you to show your
pacemaker
card and use the hand-held security wand. However if the wand is held over your peacemaking for too long, the wand could temporary affect your
pacemaker
. Do we have the right to opt for the hand-pat search?

I am just wondering if it is normal to still have tenderness under my arm and across the
pacemaker
area after 3 months? I started doing exercise and swimming after the 8 weeks and everything seemed fine, but just lately I feel as though I have gone backwards ......

Gastrocardiac Syndrome
No prior heart condition but
pacemaker
fitted 18 months ago. All cardiac tests have proved negative. The only one they wont do because all of the negative results is a Stress test.

I had an ICD/
Pacemaker
fitted three years ago and I am still experiencing pain from around the site of the implant. I also experience a jumping of the diaphragm from it which involves seeing the technician every six months for an adjustment.

Angina symptoms
Two stents, bypass, ablation for AFib,
pacemaker
, but ongoing angina symptoms due to arterial disease that consultants are not wanting to address initially through surgery (another stent/bubble) due to risk of compromising the bypass.

LBBB and mild impaired LV function.
Does this mean I will always at some point need a
pacemaker
? I've not been brought up with healthy food, never really do exercise, used to drink often, this is a wake up call now!

A help line that works! Wow what a surprise.
Some of you will know that last September I had a
pacemaker
installed. At the time of my six week checkup the centre told me that I would have a bedside monitor box that would read my PM and relay any problems to the clinic but that they were out of stock.

GOING FORWARD
This
pacemaker
even picks up when I am doing something more active such as walking or exercising and it will readjust itself. I am not going to try another ablation I’m tired of wasting time.

Need some advice please folks.
Family members are telling me to contact my gp or cardiology team to highlight it and get things moving but I've had all the test done, been diagnosed with the mentioned symptoms been fitted with an ilr which is being monitored and awaiting results to see if I need a
pacemaker
so I've not been forgotten

My partner had a
pacemaker
fitted when we were on holiday in Spain but they never gave him a card. We are now going to travel again and may need a card of some kind at the airport, not sure what to do.

permanent atrial fibrillation for two years so what now ?
I had thought a
pacemaker
might work but this has been dismissed as not suitable. I‘m on 1.25 Bisoprolol daily and Apixaban (a blood thinner ) twice daily. I’m a 76 yr old grandmother and have a fairly active life but am concerned now that I’m not able to exercise properly .

I'm a hand-cycling Paraplegic, about to have a
Pacemaker
fitted followed by an AV Node Ablation and interested to hear from any other paraplegic about how they handled the minimum movement of left arm / left pectoral during the 4 to 6 week settling in period for the leads, prior to the ablation

sciatica and no urge to move bowel
What makes that even worse is I’d need a mri scan to see what’s going on which would be fine but I have a
pacemaker
so that needs to be taken out first! im in total agony if I move right now I normally take a binder because I have bile acid diarrhoea Merry Christmas 🎄

Update on "thumping"
Update as promised on the recent "thumping" as my CRT
pacemaker
kicks in. Went to my appointment at the
pacemaker
clinic on Monday and explained that I was getting this quite drastic "thumping" on my left side as the
pacemaker
kicked in. This after 5 years with no problem.
