Living With A-Fib Questions
Obviously I know you have to avoid triggers, which I think for me is anxiety, but if you've had a successful cardioversion, ablation or had a
pacemaker
fitted, when you are not in A-Fib, do you generally feel 'normal', can you do the same things you did in the past?

Is an ablation for Persistent AF right for me?
The number rises to 84% with AV node ablation and a
pacemaker
fitted. The clerk I spoke gave no details of the type of ablation they intended to carry out and didn't mention a
pacemaker
, which is not something I know anything about.

Enlarged heart
I now have a bi-ventricular
pacemaker
(I am 45 years old). My mum passed away from aortic dissection a short while ago and as a result I have been referred for genetic tests. It appears I now also have mild dilation of the thoracic aorta.

I don't quite understand?
Are we therefore to expect policing of the chat area...................and before the smarty pants has time to tell me, yes I do know how to leave the group if I feel it is not relevant, despite my triple heart bypass or my
pacemaker
or my angina or advice on when to use my GTN spray Human beings

pace and ablate
to make I saw my consultant a few weeks back and my heart rate on the ECG was 126 He told me the drugs are no longer working and he offered me pace and ablate again We have probably spoke about pace and ablate as a solution for a few years I’ve had my pre assessment done and was due to have the

Morning I have a
pacemaker
and wondered how going through airport security works. Are they any steps I need to complete beforehand? Can I go through normal body scanners or am I exempt? Do I need a Drs note for exemption? Any advice on travelling via Eurostar and/or flying welcomed.

Annual pace maker check
Pleased to report, all's good in the world of my
pacemaker
, got about 4years battery life left in it. Anyone else feel a bit freaked out when they slow down and then speed up your heart? It gets me every time, even though I know it's coming 😳

Do you have persistent or long-standing AF?
You may also be taking medications, have previously experienced an intervention such as a catheter ablation, cardioversion or a
pacemaker
.

Pacemaker and a saxophone
Any reason why having a
pacemaker
fitted might affect my ability to play? I guess it won’t help with my duff notes mind.

I am also considering having a
pacemaker
fitted so I can improve my quality of life and exercise without a relatively acute shortness of breath at high periods of exertion. Has anyone else experienced this, how have you coped and has anyone opted to have a
pacemaker
?

Ablation and pacemaker
Had my ablation and
pacemaker
insertion done in July 2022.Never been back to normal health since, fed up with trying to find answers why I'm still suffering. Had terrible symptoms mentally and physically.

Just a quick one about little things that can affect us
The doctor wants at least a month to give the
pacemaker
a chance to do some magic. My EP does not just treat the heart as if the person does not exist. After our conversations about the
pacemaker
at Cetera, we spoke about mental health.

What are the indicators for getting a
pacemaker
. I have had just a few pauses..one six seconds but few others. Had several ablations that only worked for a while. On meds.bloodthinner. beta blocker. Why did others get a
pacemaker
?
