Update to ‘Waiting List’ post - cardiology appointment
However, it went like this: not sure what the urgency was for the appointment, nothing to worry about, slightly slow conduction, probably a progression of my heart’s wearing out electrics, wouldn’t need a
pacemaker
or anything like that for about 10 to 15 years, haha, (I’m 79), you’re ok with your AF

~AV Node ablation update~
There are other readings too that are not normal, but GP believes the
pacemaker
( Feb 2024) was enough for body to cope with and this AV Node ablation has been too much too soon - I juggle a few other health issues alongside which added to the mix.

Second ablation
I had my second ablation on Monday and whilst in recovery I was advised that it had failed and I would be getting a
pacemaker
in the next few weeks. I also had 6 cardioversions so am looking very sunburned across my chest. What do they mean when it failed?

An Eventful January Update - Pacemaker Delayed
Had the replacement
Pacemaker
Pre-op this morning, INR was at 4.4, when the Consultant wants it at 2.5 so not a good start to proceedings. Missing a daaily dose would bring it down, but, it was never likely to be by enough.

New Atrial Fibrillation Guidelines - Confront Underlying Illness
Yesterday we visited EP for husband’s annual check and I was pleased to note that following discussion on bloods,
pacemaker
reports, results of echocardiogram - all stable - the questions asked were far more about Lifestyle - alcohol consumption, BP control, exercise and sleep.

A Lot Has Been Going On Since I Last Posted
Two weeks later I had a
pacemaker
fitted! I guess it was a surprise, but tbh I was just happy to at last be able to do something that might possibly improve my health (although it actually did not really seem to make me feel any better).

Bicuspid valve and hospital stay.
I was so I'll they was deciding to replace my valve, a part of my aorta and give me a
pacemaker
. I spent two weeks in hospital. No surgery. Many tests. On my discharge after all my meds were changed. It said impression heart decompensation. Changes to my AV on my stress test.

Grade 2 LV Diastolic Dysfunction
I already have an aortic root aneurysm, Atrial Fibrillation and recently had a
Pacemaker
fitted and was born with valve disease and had replacement BAV. So, now I feel like this is just another nail in my coffin when I see the words Heart Failure and read there is no cure for HF. Very scary!

Disappointment after Ablation Number 4
Is a
pacemaker
the inevitable next step? I’d be so grateful for any words of wisdom from fellow sufferers.

POST OP
Immediately I was like what and he said during the ep after the ablation we have found somthing that unfortunately you may need to have a
pacemaker
I was in shock as they said if needed they do want to avoid me needing a pace maker due to my age.

amiodarone
Now, “fully loaded” with Amiodarone, my heart rate wants to drop even further but maintained at a steady 60bpm by my twin lead
pacemaker
, implanted in 2014. My problem is constant shortage of breath, slightest exertion creases me! Comments please.

Any ideas folks?
I have a
pacemaker
which is set at 60. My heart rate since yesterday is 60 and a few time I’ve felt my
pacemaker
kick in. What causes this to happen? Never been low before. I had OHS in January for a new mitral valve.

Is it a choice? Pacemaker v Implanted defibrillator?
It's not common. Two consultants have expressed a view, the duty one saying
pacemaker
fitting the likely position by the end of the week. My consultant who had my LINQ loop ECG recorder fitted saying implanted defibrillator.

Flutters and burping
after my
pacemaker
fitted I am feeling flutters by the bottom lead followed by burping, I’ve been back to the
pacemaker
clinic and they’ve said the
pacemaker
is fine… but the flutters are still happening and constantly burping. Anyone else have this issue.

I have had heart failure for over a year now, and I had a
pacemaker
fitted on 16th October last, then a change to my blood pressure tablet from Ramapril to Entresto.

A “success story” , finally.
And in July 2023 I have a
pacemaker
insertion then in November had the AV Node ablation. It was needed a few weeks/months to deal with the heart's rate adjustment. And today I am happily feeling better than for long time. While the AF is still active it could not affect my heart function.

A Recurring theme on this Forum - Should I stop my blood thinner after ablation?
Even though my AF burden is less than 2% again now because of the
Pacemaker
implant in 2018, I am rarely aware of it unless I have an infection when AF can last for 6-8 hours and I become symptomatic, I’m sticking with the A/Cs which I have absolutely no problems taking.
