ENDOCRINOLOGIST APPOINTMENT FOR MY SON.
At last the long-awaited and tense appointment has been kept. Today we (my special needs son and I) saw a new Endocrinologist and he had such a nice manner. All was good, my son's BP was lower, his Diabetes levels were 2 points lower and he had lost a little weight. Also, and I think this has been

Interview with Dr. Byrd at ASH 2012 on new medications, especially ibrutinib
Hi, Dr Byrd is my physician at OSU and arguably has more clinical experience with ibrutinib than anyone else in the world. On my blog ( http://bkoffman.blogspot.com ) tonight, I posted the first of a 4 part interview done at ASH 2012. It's 10 minutes well spent. The data is impressive, Just

Question: What to do next? TSH and Thyroid peroxidase antibody level are normal.
Sorry for the long post. Shortly after birth of my 1st child (February 2004), i had enlarged Thyroids and I was given levothyroxin. The Thyroids went back to normal size after aspiration and so I only took Levo for a short time. Recently, over the past year, I have had the following symptoms: tiredness

Hashimoto's, blood trest results, kidney stones and menopausal!
Happy New Year everybody. I would very much appreciate some advice regarding my blood test results. I was diagnosed with hashimoto's nearly 12 years ago. I have never felt well taking Thyroxine. Had an adrenal issue about three years ago and after seeing Doc BDP started taking adrenal supplements

how to deal with a cold
from a handy website Adults average two to four colds a year, and the typical upper respiratory infection takes up to 10 days to get over. But that first sniffle, throat tickle, or cough doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom. ....there are other cold-fighting heroes out there, too. 1. Pop zinc

Vitamin D's Impact on Autoimmunity
Taken from Dr. Jack Kruse's website (www.jackkruse.com). I think this guy is on to something. In fact, I think this guy is on to a lot of somethings. He's not waiting for air-tight, double-blind clinical trials, and at my age, neither am I. I believe that the keys to autoimmune disorders lie in the

The importance of vitamin D
I have been extremely tired and getting worse over the past few months, in fact so bad that I was threatened with a sleep study. However my consultant decided to test my vitamin D levels and it was low. I am now taking 250mcg/10,000 iu vitamin D3 a day for a month. I certainly feel as though I have more
