Castrate resistant
Why is castrate resistant such a game changer? I know that Lupron is not working as it should. Aren’t there some line of drugs that work? Does it really cut your life expectancy?

So, 2 years since diagnosed PSA 1000+ with extensive metastasis, with a few jumbo tumors that caused havoc. Then, ADT, Lupron and Zytiga, a year later, 6 infusions of Taxotere. Now at PSA < 0.02. I'm 60 years old and still employed as a software developer, love the work. But, darn, I've missed meetings

Would it work when we go back to the old treatment again? Your input would be appreciated.
I am asking this question as I am curious as to whether or not the old treatment is workable after you have used up all other treatments. For example, Lupron and Casodex (frontline) were used at first diagnosis. After all other treatments like zytiga, xstandi, etc. are castration-resistant, would it

My husband was diagnosed with Stage 4. He is 77 years old. Gleason scores were all 9/10. Bone mets to ribs, spine & pubic bone. I understand this is an uncommon diagnosis?? On Lupron, Xtiva & Xgeva. I noticed his ankles are swollen & some days his color is very pale sometimes gray. Can anyone educate

tired of Lupron side effects
Hi have been on Lupron since Feb 2017 - every 3 months shot. PSA started at 340 with bone mets. PSA for the last year is >.005 - Dr calls it undetectable - which is good and the bone mets have seriously shrunk -all good stuff. The side effects - no erection or cum, hot flashes

Husband doesn’t want to continue ADT/treatments for stage 4. He is only 51.
Hi! My 51yo husband is stage 4. Positive for ATM gene. He had prostatectomy 12/10/19 (g7, tertiary 5 at multi focal positive margins and aggressive cancer). First PSA at 3 months was 1.44–next few PSAs DT of less than 2 months. Axumin pet showed cancer in several iliac lymph nodes, area in sacrum and

Radium Treatment Experiences?
Hubby has done just about everything, years of Lupron, casadex, zytiga, xtandi, taxotere, now on jevtana (which does not appear to be working as psa continues to rise.) Now Dr wants to try a radium treatment in the nuclear med department as a last option. HAS ANYONE GONE THIS DIRECTION AND, IF SO,

Your advice on which radiotherapy treatment to choose next
I have mismanaged previous posts and take this opportunity to thank you for your previous responses. They were most helpful, kind and appreciated. I hope this one gets out to all of you. Surgery is not an available option. I have consulted with two radiation oncologists at the major cancer centres in

Update regarding divergent advice about adding Zytiga to Lupron when PSA undetectable
Thought I'd update my post from a month ago [pasted in below], but my situation briefly is that I've had undetectable PSA for 1.5 years, on Lupron for 2+ years. I finally got to speak with the senior MO at Smilow in New Haven, Dr. Daniel Petrylak, who acknowledged the various ambiguities in treatments

Looking for incontinence supplies
I had a prostatectomy with Lupron and Radiation. I developed hemorrhagic radiation cystitis and underwent multiple cystoscopies to control bleeding. I am now quite incontinent. I am a golfer and looking for incontinence supplies that are easy to change (without removing your pants). I tried Men's

CRPC at 58 - next step
My PSA (2.5 years post successfully completed chemo) is now on the rise. Still a modest movement from undetectable to 0.2 to 0.3 to 0.4 to now 0.5 (each separated by 6 weeks). But obviously it’s time for treatment given my high grade and high tumor load when I was first diagnosed. I currently remain

Anyone here diagnosed with secondary cancer after chemo and radiation for prostate cancer?
I’ve been reading lately about secondary cancers associated with chemotherapy (platinum more often than taxane) and radiation treatment for solid tumors such as prostate cancer. We are dealing with a very resistant type of prostate cancer and as a result, my husband has had carboplatin, docetaxel, Lupron

I don’t know where to go, who to ask and what to do in regards to my dad who is on hospice w/ metastatic prostate cancer...
My dad (74) was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in September 2019 after numerous trips to the ER. The hospital recommended hospice last year but we refused and wanted him to see an oncologist first. He saw an oncologist and was put on Xtandi and Lupron right away. He was able to walk again
