knee - replacement advice
Since my initial consultation in May where I was using over the counter
NSAIDs
I’ve been moved onto Zapain and a cream - Piroxicam. I don’t sleep well at night and have limited walking ability. Has anyone else had this experience? A telephone appointment on a Sunday before Christmas.

Frozen shoulder?
He said that in his experience, a lot of weird symptoms like mine do just go eventually, his implication being that I should just do the best I can with
NSAIDs
and paracetamol and suck it up.

Prednisolone Update & Questions
Should I take a PPI as I was with my
NSAIDS
? Does this improvement suggest that my diagnosis is correct or should I still be wary of other conditions being the correct diagnosis? Many thanks in advance, as always. Paul x

Rheumatologist Appt Advice
Absolutely drained, hip pain after resting or driving and minimal improvements after
NSAIDS
...... That's the run down......my GP has referred me and thanks to the advice I've received, I pushed Benenden for a specialist appt and incredibly I have one tomorrow with a Mr Khan, Rheumatologist.

I told her she didn't want me on
NSAIDS
before. I reminded her that now I have fracture pain from the Osteo and PMR pain, hence the Rx.

Knee and Thigh pain
Painkillers and
nsaids
don't do anything for it. Sitting down fine but can't put much weight on them. Have app with doctor next week but in the meantime I wondered if you have any ideas. Before this happened I could walk a mile and a half. Thank you in advance.

Migratory inflammatory arthritis, Hydroxychloroquine and Prednisolone
After being prescribed the usual
NSAIDs
I was given hydroxychloroquine which I didn't take after reading all the side effects - I was hoping that whatever I had would subside with time. However, this hasn't happened so I finally gave in and started the HCQ at 200mg daily dose about 3 months ago.

Total knee replacement, if and when?
In June I saw a GP as improvement stopped and I was finding the
NSAIDS
were affecting my stomach. She said the waiting list was 12 months. Therefore I asked to go on the list and reduced the
NSAIDS
to 1 every other day.

While
NSAIDs
were typically effective in reducing these AEs (thankfully!), their frequency/intensity was requiring me to take them once or twice daily.

PMR or Arthritis?
I’m not happy to take
NSAIDs
long term and I am now thinking of acupuncture and massage. I do 30 mins of stretching and yoga type exercises every morning as well as those advised by the physio, though this can be hard with the stiffness.

is this a sign my meds are struggling or just how it is now?
Couldn’t sleep and had to take
nsaids
/painkillers including through the night which eased it a little one side, not so much the other side. It only lasted a couple of days and now I am left with a residual dull ache, but I can carry on this morning almost as normal - housecleaning etc.

I am writing to ask about the received wisdom of
NSAIDs
in this group... I have wicked foot and Achilles problems and it is possible an NSAID would be helpful. But apparently some are linked with a 76% higher probability of having Afib!

Doctor won't diagnose PMR
My GP has just left me on
NSAIDS
and paracetamol with physio. It's not working. How common is it to have PMR with no obvious inflammation? Also, if cortisol relieves PMR, is it fair to say that the cause of PMR is adrenal insufficiency, possibly caused by trauma or prolonged stress?
