HIV since 1983 converted to AIDS 1991 and still here.
Hey guys, I just joined the group today although I have been a part of the "family" for 33 years. I have been reading some of your posts and have felt overwhelmed with your struggles which echo my own in so many ways. Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences. After surviving the past 33 years

Back pain
I also have to stop
nsaids
a few days before. Not sure about my dmards or tramadol. Just wondered if any of you good people have any tips for managing the pain and stiffness until I can have another depot injection.

Hi, I'm new here.
I'm new to this community, but not new to HIV. I was diagnosed in 1988 after a bout with pneumonia. At that time, I had a diagnosis of maybe 2 yrs to live. It will be 28 yrs this June that I have survived. I'm proud to tell people I'm a long-term survivor. But, it has not been an enjoyable ride. Upon

Positive thoughts & HIV positive since 1985
Do not remember life without HIV. I used to think life before being positive and life with HIV. Now it life before the medication & life with medication. Never understood bigotry or segregation until I started the meds. Now I live it everyday, I sit alone on a crowded bus, outside my neighborhood I get

No HIV transmissions with undetectable viral load
Hi all, This is a copy and paste from a from a reply message I wrote. I thought it best to make a separate post here. I hope you find some value in it. :) I have now become extremely passionate about boosting the morale of my fellow HIV'ers. We don't need to feel the way we do. Now that I know about

THERE IS NO CURE FOR HIV
Dear community members, There has recently been a flurry of postings by someone who is claiming to have been cured of HIV using some herbal remedy. This is a bogus claim, THERE IS NO CURE FOR HIV. Once a cure has been found, believe me we will all know about it. The medical team responsible will be

Desperate for Relief
My doctor has tried back braces, knee braces, physical therapy, steroids,
NSAIDs
, methotrexate and folic acid, cortozone injection, and Humira injections once a week. All which I saw very little or no improvements in my health, and my pain would always come back again and again.

HU, ET and Advil
Hi all, I have a question, I see where a lot of people say not to take any
nsaids
(advil etc) with your HU and aspirin however my Dr (Hemo Dr) says no there is no reason why you can take it? As long as you are not taking too much. Can you give me your thoughts on this or what you have been told.

Juvenile Arthritis/ Ankylosing Spondilitis
I have gone through multiple
Nsaids
and auto-immune medications. I have made the decision to stay away from pain medications and as of now the only medication I take is Humira injections once a week. Humira seems to stop the swelling in my knees and feet but still does not help with pain.

HIV Diagnosed
Hi Everyone! I was diagnosed with HIV last December 1, 2015. My CD4 count that time was 395 so I decided myself to start taking ART medicine. To tell you honestly, I was really shocked with what happened. Until now, I really don't know what to do, I'm afraid to die. I still need to work hard for my family

Treatment for 'pins and needles' pain.
Paracetamol doesn't help and I can't take
NSAIDs
(previous GI bleed). Codeine works wonders, but I daren't take it more than twice a week. I did a bit of research on diabetic peripheral neuropathy and found a few options.

Betain and gastritis??
Well following my previous post I was reading up on tests for low stomach acid etc and actually copied and pasted this :- 'Note:
NSAIDs
and Corticosteroids increase the chances of ulcers in the stomach and together with Betaine HCL increase the risk of gastritis.
