An update on Leflunomide
I have now been on 20mgs of Leflunomide for over 6 months. This is supposed to be helping me to reduce the Pred. as I can never get past 10mgs without a flare. I had tapered down to 10mgs but was beginning to feel worse from 11mgs down, and then, after I had to travel and stay for 4 days at a family

Tapentadol - Yikes, scary! Anyone else taking it?
I've been to the pain clinic for the first time today and the Dr I was was excellent. Asks lots of questions, was very understanding and gave me a lot of information. He believes my pain to be Neuropathic in origin and has prescribed me Tapentadol. It is a controlled drug and I had to show ID and sign

Letter to nowhere
In June, after learning that the commissioner of the FDA has the authority to exempt a medication from prescription-dispensing requirements, I wrote a letter to the FDA asking for injectable B12 to be made available without a prescription. Last week I got a (mildly disappointing) response that reads

Lump removal
Had two lumps removed yesterday under local anesthetic, both on my right ribs. The surgeon was great, he was American and went through everything with me, before and afterwards. I have had a few of these removed previously and was told they are lipomas, I asked the doctor if they could be Dercums disease

Any advice please re: lips curling in & mouth tightening. Anybody know if laser therapy helps? Have UCTD, raynauds & positive ANA's. Thanks
Hello all, I am being treated with hydroxychloroquine for UCTD, only been taking it 5 months so far and was hoping it could calm symptoms and slow down the skin tightening. (Which started 2 years ago). No matter how much facial exercise I do, my skin seems stubborn to fully move itself - a horrible

Repeating the basics of insulin. It is copy and paste from a web site.
Rapid-acting insulin, begins to work about 15 minutes after injection, peaks in about 1 hour, and continues to work for 2 to 4 hours. Types: Insulin glulisine (Apidra), insulin lispro (Humalog), and insulin aspart (NovoLog) Regular or Short-acting insulin usually reaches the bloodstream within 30 minutes

Burning Thigh that some of us get, with GCA and PMR, or meralgia paresthetica
Hi, I was newly diagnosed with GCA in May, 2012. I was earlier diagnosed with "burning thigh" or meralgia paresthetica and had a nerve release in 2007. This may help those who aren't sure about their other symptoms. I also had to go to several experts on this, and waited about a year (a year of pain
