After transplant I experienced multiple sinus infections that I never had before due to be immune suppresion and more recently due to new poor levels of air quality due to climate change, those are becoming more frequent with eye infection as well. My question concerning eye infections. Has anyone had

Research: Methane and Constipation-predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS-C / C-IBS): Entwining Pillars of Emerging Neurogastroenterology
Abstract Functional gut disorders have long known to cause depravity in quality of life. Among the group of these heterogeneous disorders, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) has been known to affect a large chunk of our population. IBS is not as simple as it sounds. Caused by a multitude of factors, the

Neck rash looks dark?
Hi guys, Slightly concerned about the neck rash I have. Except it’s no longer a rash since I haven’t itched it for like a month. It’s now a dark patch… It’s been there after my first chemo treatment (BEP) almost 2 months ago. Doc prescribed steroid cream which I put on one time and caused my whole

I don’t think my asthma was properly diagnosed for years. I think I have an atypical type. I was exposed to noxious fumes in 2010, for only a few minutes. I was removing belongings from my late mom’s home after her bedroom floor was sealed against animal odors. The smell was so strong, it was February

IBS-C & Sibo
I’ve got IBS-C and have recently been diagnosed with Sibo , I’ve had a 2 week course of antibiotics, Rifaximin, but they’ve done nothing , in fact I feel worse now , my stomach is in turmoil, so I’m assuming I still have it , but I haven’t been re tested yet , so I can’t be sure . I gather from my consultant

SIBO and Elevated Liver Enzymes
I have had gastro issues the last two months after using a proton pump inhibitor in May and was finally diagnosed with SIBO on Monday. My GI started me on Rifaximin and Neomycin last night. She did a liver function panel test before I started on the antibiotics and the AST was 52 and the ALT was 73.

I'm new here and developed tinnitus from ear infection, I think Optomize ear spray made it worse!
Hi guys, I've had pulsatile tinnitus on my right ear for 7 years but that doesn’t bother me. It started in mid March when I had starting having muffled hearing on my left ear and it went after 3 days leaving a low buzzing sound for a week. I was worried at this point couldn’t sleep without fan on and

Optimizer ear spray (contains neomycin) and tinitus
I had itchy ears and was prescribed an ear spray called optimize that appeared to trigger tinitus. I just wondered if anyone had developed tinitus on the back of that too? I have read that one of its ingredients, neomycin can cause it (although I'm told that it's only if you have a compromised eardrum

How do you feel daily since your diagnosis? Am I normal?
Back in Nov. of 2019 I had bad swelling in my abdomen so a friend took me to the ER. I was a daily beer drinker 8-12 a day for approximately 26 years. The last 7 of those years I was drinking Vodka and soda. They said I had problems with my liver and needed paracentesis, I stayed in the hospital for

A different type of diet that may impact prostate cancer - low polyamine (see study)- no need to be vegan :-)
I would love to hear thoughts on this study. It is an older, small study, but there is additional supporting evidence for reduction of polyamines, which is posted after the study. Basically, the group that reduced polyamines and took antibiotics to reduce polyamine producing bacteria survived twice

IRE-CT as a probable option
I've just returned from visiting the Vitus Clinic in Offenbach tp discuss a possible way forward. My circumstances: Experienced BCR late 2017. MO prescribed Casodex 150mg as monotherapy, which has kept PSA <3. Now has risen to 3.7 so time to act. PSMA scan and yesterday's MRI showed it's still localised

Anyone involved in prep and administration of BLEOMYCIN IN EARLY 1970s developed a blood cancer. Friend and colleague of mine, both involved in this, same hospital group developedPV AT SAME TIME, now progressed to MF. VERY INTERESTED to learn of anyone in same situation.

Thyroid hormone inhibits lung fibrosis in mice by improving epithelial mitochondrial function
For anyone who is interested, the full article should be available on PubMed Central from 2018-06-04. Yet another paper which identifies thyroid hormone as a possible treatment for something that is not classically thought of as hypothyroidism. [i]Nat Med. 2018 Jan;24(1):39-49. doi: 10.1038/nm.4447.

I'm new and looking for advice on coping emotionally with a very large lump on my neck.
Hello all, Over a year ago, I developed an egg-sized lump on the side of my neck which has since grown to be bigger than a grapefruit protruding from my neck and collarbone. I've seen a specialist who said it was a harmless post-traumatic seroma from a very minor sports injury and I've since had an unsuccessful

Propolis - CAPE
Another post prompted by Attitude67 & Charmander. Propolis is a resin that bees use to seal gaps in the hive. It may have antibacterial & antifungal properties. Supplements are widely available, but one should be aware that PCa studies have focussed on CAPE (Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester). Some propolis

Amiodarone can affect your lungs!
I was looking though some of my old and new drugs to see if there was any links to the many conditions and reactions I have and found this. Drugs such as nitrofurantoin, amiodarone, bleomycin, and many others can rarely cause interstitial lung disease. Do not panic if you are on them but worth talking
