Silly Questions??
1) Why do some advanced prostate cancer patients get offered "vacations", from ADT and others don't? 2) Why do some advanced prostate cancer patients have NO Chemo, and go directly to ADT + Abiraterone+Prednisone, while others begin treatment with chemo and radiation? What are the deciding criteria

Allergic reaction to Doxil, my first ever chemo infusion
Hi everyone, Has anyone experienced an allergic reaction to Doxil? Almost three years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 4 MBC. After being on hormone therapy for over two years, mostly IBrance and Letrozole, and then oral chemo for six months, my most recent petscan showed the cancer is still spreading

No Osteoporosis with Estrogen Patch Therapy
These plots compare results from the Phase-II randomized trial (PATCH) comparing estrogen patch therapy to Lupron ADT. These plots show that Lupron ADT causes bone loss, while estrogen patch therapy has either no bone loss or increased bone mineral density (BMD) over time. Bob

Castration by Estrogen Patch
This plot shows a dramatic decrease in testosterone and PSA after starting estrogen patch therapy, indicating that transdermal estrogen (TDE) therapy effectively castrates men, and with fewer side effects than Lupron ADT.

Transdermal estrogen/estradiol as monotherapy for Prostate Cancer

The paradigm has shifted - castrate resistance.
It now appears that I’ve entered the land of castrate resistance and further ADT vacations are no longer in the plan. My T level recovered much more quickly during the last vacation than during previous vacations, and my PSA rose correspondingly. At 4 months my T level was 325 and my PSA was 4. Another

Weight training & T3 tolerance
Hi all, I am now tolerating
NDT
much better by using adrenal cortex when I get overt symptoms of intolerance (extreme anxiety, skin crawling, severe agitation). For me, the worst time is 3 hours after my
NDT
dose (which I believe is the T3 rising in the blood).

Newly diagnosed researching lifestyle changes
Hi there, Had a overall physical of everything which included PSA which was 6 in 2016 and didn't put any attention to it and ignored it, nobody I spoke with who saw the report said to do anything. No family history of prostate cancer that I know of. Now 7 years later age 64, PSA 18, Free PSA 11%

Staring at my unopened bottle of Orgovyx
Well, D-day (or maybe O-day) has arrived (thank you FED-X). I'm about to do a swan dive into my battle against my PCa. After a week of searching for this stuff, my clinic found it in Louisville Kentucky at a pharmacy called Onco360. Not exactly a neighborhood corner market with me living on an island

Testosterone Recovery for 50% of Men
Here's an updated plot of Testosterone recovery time for 50% of men after stopping Lupron ADT, as a function of ADT duration. For ADT durations less than 20 months, the curve is basically linear with a slope = 1.0 (green line), meaning that the Recovery Time for 50% of men is roughly equal to the ADT

Testosterone Recovery After ADT - Updated Plot
Thanks to Tall_Allen for providing lots of extra data for this plot: https://www.prostatecancer.news/2023/04/intermittent-adt.html You can easily extrapolate the curves to find out your recovery time. Testosterone recovery after stopping ADT - 3
This plot shows the % of men who recovered their original testosterone level after stopping Lupron ADT, plotted versus the time (months) after stopping ADT, for three different durations of ADT (4, 6-12, or 24 months). The curves show that a short course of ADT allows men to recover their testosterone

Thoughts on Denosumab in my case
MO is suggesting Denosumab after my Dexa scan. Bone density normal in spine, osteopenia in right hip and osteoporosis on one part of left hip. I am wondering if with a -2.7 it is possible to control/improve with supplements and weight bearing exercises? What are you taking? Have added calcium. The
