Potty time and poo withholding
She has been on
movicol
since June 2018 and we have been through disimpactions and playing with the dose to get it right and have now found that potty training and having a proper toileting routine has actually really helped her!

4 year old soiling troubles.
He's been on
movicol
but that's made it worse, I'm not even sure if it is constipation as it's not like a leakage in his pants it's always quite abit and it's stodgy so I'm really not sure!

Help! Poo withholding!
We have
movicol

Psychotherapist wanted
What’s been happening over the past 18 months or so is that we keep her bowels moving for extended periods of time (e.g. 3 months) using
Movicol
and then as soon as we start reducing the maintenance dose and our daughter begins to regain control, she withholds and we go back to square one (i.e. constipation

4 year old boy withholding and not wanting to poo on the toilet
He’s now using
movicol
sachets daily that I give him at night as I don’t want him having accidents at nursery. He tends to go most mornings but in his nappy before he wakes. On the advice of ‘Eric’ we do toilet time every night after a shower or if I see him needing to go.

With holding nightmare for 6 year old
Hi, my son is 6 and only poos every 2-3 weeks after a few doses of either
movicol
or ducolax, longest he has held it in for is 6 weeks. Drs just say it idiopathic constipation from being a baby which has developed into withholding.

My daughter's on going constipation and Movicol
I've been to gp and she's given
Movicol
as lactose didn't work. She is taking 2/3 to 1 full sachet of
Movicol
every day at the moment. She opens her vowel once a day almost everyday. Having said that, she still gets constipation time to time. Therefore we end up using suppository.

Stopping Movicol - how long does it take to get out of the system?
My daughter is 9 and has been on
Movicol
since August after recurrent UTIs which they think was caused by constipation (she only went once every 5 days and it was a massive poo).

Just started on our laxative journey
So we have just started on
movicol
laxatives one week ago, he has been having one sachet, but today we gave two (although he probably didn’t actually drink a full two sachets). We are still experiencing a lot of withholding and he is really miserable.

Vomiting & constipation
Given
Movicol
to start in doses up to 12. Tomorrow is day 15 of
Movicol
. She has passed some sort of poo everyday but never this disimpaction I don’t think that GP told us about. Today still plenty of poo. The thing that is really worrying me is the relentless nausea & vomiting.

Overflow or too much lax?
I am really struggling to determine if the bouts of poo accidents we sometimes experience with our 9 year old are due to over flow or that we need to reduce her
Movicol
. I always assumed over flow was liquid and would be really stinky or hve occasional hard bits in it.

Toddler constipation and withholding
GP prescribed
movicol
but is very difficult to find the right balance. She sometimes leaks small amounts of poo all day and other days will do one big poo (but nearly always in her knickers and she will try and stop the poo coming). Nothing seems to motivate her! Any advice?!
