I’m so fed up :(

Went back a year later as still in loads of pain, another op with no endo found and Mirena coil fitted. Mirena helped for 8 months then all of the pain returned so had it taken out. Got myself referred by my GP to a BSGE accredited centre after my own research.

Hi Im due to have my Marina coil removed and replaced this week. Referred to the hospital due to my gp unable to find the strings. Can anyone give me idea on what the procedure is?

Contraception? Endometriosis and hypermobility

Similarily mirena can cause heavier periods but also it's progresterone based. So, I'm a bit stumped. Anyone found a good contraceptive choice, other than condoms?

Laparoscopy and Laparotomy

Only 2 days to go until I go in for my diagnostic lap. They are treating any Endo at the same time. Reading through the consent form I have signed for. Laparoscopy and Laparotomy. I have no idea what the difference is. Also I signed to have the marina coil fitted, but after reading the reviews I'm going

Peri-Menopause and Menorrhagia

The Mirena coil is probably a no no as I don't fancy it, plus I have a bulky womb anyway with large fibroids and Adenomyosis. Help!!!

Fluid in womb

Hello 😌 I got diagnosed with PCOS literally this morning at 23. My doctor has referred me to a gynaecologist as during my ultrasound scan they have found fluid in my womb and they’re not sure whether it’s relevant to the fact I’ve been spotting/on a light period for the past two months. Is that something

What stage would you say this is?

Was sent for an MRI when I was on a Mirena coil which calmed things down a lot and it showed a 25mm cyst(?) Within my right ovary.

Really painful periods!

I had the mirena coil put in a last month but really struggled with the pain and as a result went to A&E and had it removed straight away! Not a good option 😔 anyway, since that experience my last period was extremely painful and the worst cramps I've ever had!

Anyone worse a day after intense work outs?

I had excision surgery (endo found in uteral sacral ligaments and around ovaries) and Mirena fitted in January, but I just feel like pain is coming back! :( .. I’m in agony lately with pain after intense exercise/intercourse but it seems to be the day after for some reason.

Could I possibly be pregnant?

Let me first of state the fact that I am on the Mirena coil. A girl in my work spooked me about this as she got pregnant on the same coil herself.

Tamoxifen & the Mirena coil

Hi everyone I wonder if any of you have or had oestrogen positive breast cancer and also have a coil fitted. My oncologist told me it was safe to leave the coil in place whilst taking tamoxifen as it may help with some of the side effects. Whilst talking to a friend who has the same type of cancer as

Laparoscopy and Mirena coil

Also, the gyno offered to fit the Mirena coil while I was under anaesthetic (I've never had children). I've been reading up on it and I feel like my periods aren't enough of a nuisance to risk the pain associated with having the Mirena.

Trying to conceive with Endo stage 4 and worried about my chances

My GP once told me that the Mirena was regulating my hormones and that actually my best chance to conceive was just after I had it removed. Well, now all I can think is, if it doesn't happen straight away, that's my best chance gone and it probably won't happen.

Post Lap period

I have a Mirena coil fitted now and was told it can take time to settle, so again not sure what to expect but although the bleeding is thankfully less heavy than pre-Lap it is still more than just spotting. I suppose I just want to know this is all normal and that things will get better in time?

Sickness, nausea, endo & mirena coil

So I’ve nearly had the coil in for a year, I have let it settle down and thought it was finally working. Much lighter periods although still not regular but much less pain with them. Anyhow I’ve recently had what I thought was a sickness bug, and then total loss of appetite for two weeks. When I have

Severely anaemic.

Avoided Mirena coil as I developed a phobia at the start of my last smear, my body just clamped up that the nurse couldn't continue. I have Fibroids and Adenomyosis, had CT, MRI and US, plus biopsy and Gynae happy.

Options other than Mirena coil

We discussed all options and she told me that my only options were either the Mirena coil, or to not use any contraceptives (apart from condoms obviously) and just deal with the pain and irregular heavy bleeding as best I could.
