Sorry this will be rather long... so apologies but I need help please. First armed with a copy of results from blood tests of 16 December I asked her who had checed the results as I was surprised that EVERYTHING was NORMAL when in fact my RBCs are above range (as indicated by lab) and my MCV and MCHL

25 mcg hasn't had much of an impact at all
Hi all you good people! I was diagnosed borderline hypothyroid a few months ago. My TSH was 6.5 and T4 11.3 in October 2016. I was started on 25mcg levo. I had another blood test a week ago and the results were TSH 6.5 and T4 11.8. My doctor sent me a new prescription in the post for 50mcg with

small success after 8 years of constipation
My son has never been great with toilet issues. He was a very reluctant with potty training and suffered toddler diarrhoea. Around age of 5 he improved greatly and then poop accidents started again. The GP thought he needed imodium to help him have firmer stools, but as you can imagine, it did not help

Anti-inflammatory diets
Whilst the information booklets (NHS, UK) for PMR/GCA given to me when I was diagnosed with both conditions in July 2015, briefly touch on diet with a short list of foods based on calcium intake, I recently checked out anti-inflammatory diets to see if this would help. I bought the books "The Anti-Inflammatory

Hashis and Gluten Free
Hi all Would love to hear stories about people going gluten free and whether it helped your hypothyroidism/ hashis. Does it need to be a strict 100% gluten free diet or can you have a couple of 'cheat days' a month! Thanks in advance.

Advice on new Hypothyroidism diagnosis please
Hi - I have (today) been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and started on Levo 25 od. I had a blood test a month ago after reporting fatigue and hair loss symptoms. Ataxia - short lived but dramatic instant improvement with gluten-free diet.
I am a 77 year-old retired pathologist and new here. My illness began 6 years ago, with difficulty in walking, upset balance and problems getting in and out of cars. I was fairly sure I had ataxia of some sort and was eventually seen by the neurological team in Nottingham. They disagreed with the idea

Help and Guidance with blood tests results
Hi everyone, Need some help and advice before I see my GP on 12 January. These are the results: Serum tissue transglutaminase level (Xalbn) : 0.6 ku/L (0.0 - 5.0). Coeliac serology negative. Thoughts on brain fog?
Once again I am trying to figure out PMR. Yesterday I came home from work beause my brain was so fatigued it just shut down. I work at at an elementary school full time and the day before had computer training that was similar to trying to learn Chinese. The fog started then. Didn't sleep well for 2

What is the difference between the antibodies tested please?
Hello, I have been following a gluten free diet for three months and had a BH blood test just to see if it was working at all. I do realise it takes longer to work but just hoped something would have changed. Well it has but I don't understand why. The anti-thyroid peroxidase abs has dropped from 256.4

Newbie............results for my daughter
Following all the fantastic advice here I have been able to advise my daughter on what to do with her vits levels, and also gluten free diet, etc etc. My question is this...........she very much wants to go a 'natural' way, and fancies trying NDT. This is rather fraught with supply issues, persuading

Can adrenals heal?
I was diagnosed with Hashi's 15 years ago, I'm now 62 and retired. I'm also in stage 3 adrenal fatigue syndrome (virtually no cortisol in June 2016). I've been self-navigating for the past 6 months, and have seen a LITTLE improvement in the fatigue and depression. I am able to take care of myself and

Test results: 1st test post-NDT switch
Hi all, I have Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism and made the switch to NDT around 8-9 weeks ago after an unsuccessful year on Levothyroxine (finishing dose of 125mcg). I'm on 2 grains on Thyroid-S which I tolerate well and I've felt good, not always great, but certainly miles better than I ever felt on Levothyroxine

Just diagnosed
Hi I have just received my results from the endoscopy confirming celiac disease although my consultant was 95% positive I had it after the original blood tests. I would be interested to know how long it takes for people to feel better after following a gluten free diet as I have been gluten free for

Ataxia, stomach problems and lycopene
Although i tested negative for gluten ataxia (I have "idiopathic" SCA), I am considering starting a gluten-free diet. Partly due to comments I have read on here. Quite a few people with ataxia, but not gluten ataxia, have reported only positive results after removing gluten from their diet. Somebody

New to Hashimoto's any advice welcome
I have just found out recently that when I was first diagnosed with Hypothroidism in 2010, I was actually diagnosed with Hashi's but my Dr/Endo didn't tell me :-/ So my question is what actually helps with alleviating the pain/flare ups that you people who suffer with it apart from a gluten free diet

Lutein/Beta Carotene
I've just been researching Marshalllow Root (which is supposed to be good for inflammation) and read that people with Hashis should avoid
Lutein
and Beta Carotene, but I can't seem to find out why. Can anyone help please?
