PSA rise
Have been on
Lupron
and Zytiga for five years now. PSA has been increasing exponentially .02, .04, .16 Is this an indication that my medication is losing its effectiveness?

Removal after Twenty Years
Well folks, after diagnosis of advanced cancer in 2000, no removal of prostate, radiation and Zoladex, 2006 recurrence and chemotherapy, continued
Lupron
only until 2016, added Casodex for two years, then Erleada for two years, then Zytiga for two years and now with MRI revealed and biopsy confirmed

13 year Battle with Stage 4 PC
When it began to rise, he went on
Lupron
injections/ then Casodex. In 2018, his PSA jumped to 19 and his Urologist referred him to Oncology. He continued with
Lupron
. He had Provenge which helped for a few months.

Chemo with docetaxel?
I am on
Lupron
or Zoladex shots every three months. I'd be interested in views of the best (and worst) case scenarios expectable from chemo with docetaxel. Supposing my PSA is about 50 when I start, how much might chemo knock it back down, and for how long?

Phosphate Levels Dropping
Almost one year since last
Lupron
Injection, so six months approx since
Lupron
free. Feeling much better since
Lupron
is out of my system, and latest bloods show that PSA is still <0.1 and T is 14.6nmol/L.

Undetectable PSA
I have 16 months of undetectable PSA with about five more months of treatment with keytruda and
Lupron
. That will finish up my two years of treatment. I am wondering about what happens next. tennis8285

Cardio Vascular Risk from Lupron
One of the side effects of long term
Lupron
use is cardio vascular risk. My understanding is that the risk comes from castrate level testosterone, not from
Lupron
directly. Am I right?

treatment post surgical castration
Chose surgical castration instead of
Lupron
. PSA went from 68 in July to 1.1 in Sept (10 days later), 0.6 in Oct. to 0.4 Nov. 2nd. Oncologist wants to start Nubega which is for non-metastatic castration-resistant pc, and has some pretty nasty side effects.

What to do going forward post RP
His last
Lupron
shot was in May of 2021 and the plan is to test his PSA every 3 months. When it starts to go up, additional treatment will be considered at that time. The doctor advised us there is an 85-90% chance the cancer will return.

First post-ADT followup. So far so good ... but it's early
Started ADT with
Lupron
and Zytiga/prednisone. PSA dropped to 0.1 after about 4 months and to undetectable after about 6 months. - Went on a ADT vacation after about 13 months of Zytiga and 15 months of
Lupron
. - After about 9 months PSA started to rise.

Chemo as first treatment
He started on Docetaxal immediately (4th round tomorrow) and Firmagon, now moved on to
Lupron
. He has tolerated as best as possible the last two chemo infusions but is pretty miserable. He is wanting to stop chemo and go to next step.

Castrate resistant prostate cancer
Currently taking
Lupron
3 monthly. What are the options now? I know the prognosis is worse now but I’m still trying to remain hopeful. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I hope we can get the cancer halted and get back on track. Much love !!

Low Red Blood Cell count
I am on
Lupron
and Keytruda. I have low red blood cell count (3.44), low hemoglobin (10.5), and low hematocrit (33.0). These are typical values and vary at most 6% (up/down) monthly over the past year. Physician assistant says it is not diet related.
