My wife of 40 years and APS
Stop all processed foods, no seed oils and restrict or complete avoid grains (wheat, rice, corn etc) and go on a
low
carbohydrate
diet
. We all need to have a healthy glycocalyx which is the slimy lining of our blood vessels.

I’m having a difficult time shifting my diet to low carb to combat the sugar intake. Any suggestions on how to get started? Thanks

8 months since first post..new results and questions
8 months on from my first noobie post on the forum asking for help. I’m pretty pleased with this, feeling so much better than I did, the advice here has been life changing. Still work to do, very achy, limited capacity to do anything outside of turning up to work/home stuff but that is an improvement

Felodipine
Ok- been on a variety of anti hypertensives for about 10 years- Ramipril made me cough continually so a couple of others were tried and eventually settled on Losartan 50mg. Until about 3 months ago when it seemed to stop working. Dose increased with no effect so GP added in amlodipine 5mg- cue awful

A catch up and regroup.
Hello lovely people, I was just recounting and filling in the time I've been away from this site - the absence due to my grandmothers passing - and it was becoming a bit of a novel, recounting the day to day details of the hospital etc so have decided to not post it as it may be triggering for others

Going round in circles
I didn't eat carbs for months and lost a significant amount of weight. Downside alot of hairloss.Been told with a fatty liver you can eat carbs but others say carbs are bad. Your body needs enough calories and carbs. How can you get enough daily calories when you don't eat carbs. Are low carb wraps etc

Raised Creatinine in urine
Hello everyone I was diagnosed with PMR in January and am now down to 4.5mg prednisolone. Having piled on the pounds at first I have been on a low carb diet since March. I do eat quite a bit of meat and a recent urine dip stick test showed raised creatinine. Could this be caused by high protein/low carb

Serum vs. tissue T3 levels
My thanks to DippyDame and others for your cogent analyses of serum T3 levels vs. tissue T3 levels. I have been self-dosing T3 for many years (stumbled upon its existence accidentally on an Internet website; a subsequent query, "Dosing T3," led me to Paul Robinson's most valuable books. A petite female

Liothyronine over or under.
Is it possible that too much liothyronine may stall weight loss please. I have been on liothyronine only 60mcg daily for at least ten years it was 80 before that. I suffered two mini strokes in July and was given a blood thinner told to stay active and lose weight and despite strict low carb walking

LCHF/Keto junk food
Hi all. How's everyone doing? Not normally one for any processed food at all, I have been uncharacteristically buying some keto "junk food" recently. This (ridiculously expensive!!) loaf of keto bread, made mainly of almonds and eggs, is actually really good, and very low carb at 3.5g per 100g.

Change to Thyroid Tests after 40 years of the same dose of Throxine
I am having a battle with my GP. Diagnosed with underactive thyroid when I was 26 and I am now 70 and for past 40 years have been on 150 thyroxine which worked perfectly for me. In April 21 I got diagnosed with PMR and put on 15 mg of steroids. I eat a low carb diet, take Vit D and have done a slow transition
