Post Leflunomide Update
After coming off
Leflunomide
in November 2022, I am now up from 5.5 to 15 mg Prednisone. Finally the pain is subsiding in my left shoulder- it was constantly painful and was not able to get dressed or wash properly.

My latest six-month review with a (2nd) locum.
Also, I am to continue with 10mg daily
Leflunomide
. The locum will be writing to me to confirm the way forward. Sighs of relief!

A tale of PMR, pred and DMARDs (azathioprine, methotrexate and leflunomide)
We decided on
leflunomide
and, after coming off methotrexate which took a month or two, I started on 20mg. along with, I think, 8mg pred. Nothing happened for about six weeks when, over the course of a weekend, I was aware of a magical change.

Does anyone have information about or has tried the biologic Sarilumab (Kevzara) for PMR?
I'm guessing she will mention
Leflunomide
. Thus far I've reduced my MTX from 25mg weekly to 15mg every 10 days and am currently tapering from 7.5 down to 7mg pred.

Low dose of Pred long term for GCA
Just wondered if anyone with GCA has stayed on low dose prednisilone long term as they couldn't tolerate any of the drugs like MTX and
Leflunomide
and what dose was used please. Also whether it was possible to get off steroids eventually. Thanks

Thank you to all the people who responded to my post on Leflunomide.
Most people were of the opinion that I tapered off far too quickly, and that I would be better off, getting back on an even keel again, before trying again much more slowly. I have now been on the increased 15 mg for 12 days. The discomfort I experienced has eased, but unfortunately, I now feel very

Leflunomide question
I'm starting
Leflunomide
this month, sooner rather than later but am unsure when it would be best for me to take it daily. At the mo I'm on the following meds schedule: Prednisolone 30mg after breakfast ( got a week left on this) Zomorph 30mg after breakfast and before bed.

Not sure what to expect?
I was put on Methotrexate, Sulphasalazine and Hydroxy last October after having the biggest flare ever trying
Leflunomide
. I cut out hydroxychloroquine in Feb due to stomach problems.

I think I Might Have PMRGCA. Worried
I was given
leflunomide
which I recently stopped, didn't like it but in the last couple of weeks I've had these symptoms which are driving me nuts: pain in jaw, pain in temples, a couple of short migraines, pain in ears.I also have pain in hips, pain in lower abdomen left.

Consultant rang me
She says diarrhea this long after stopping
Leflunomide
isn't common but yes it can happen. So of course it would happen to me! Story of my life basically.

2nd Update re Giving up
On
Leflunomide
10mg for 2 weeks now but not working yet. Taking morphine slow release plus liquid for breakthrough pain given by gp. I could happily take it all in one go at the mo. Sorry for such a downer first thing. You all 'get it' though.

Pain in ears, temples, on and off. TMJ, anyone?
I started
Leflunomide
end November last year but felt generally awful on it so stopped three weeks ago. I did have a massive flare up afterwards (but my grandson was born then and it was a bit stressful for a few days) My question is, did/do any of you have anything like this?

Leflunomide - in hind sight
Reduced to 10 mg/day
leflunomide
in Sept 2022. However, the worst side effect was increasing neuropathy in my hands and feet. Rheumatologist told me to stop in Nov 2022 and take Olestyr for 10 days to speed up the flushing of

Here I go again! 😔
Now I can't start to take the
Leflunomide
now either as I have a chest infection and should get antibiotics delivered today. Arms hurting again, fingers swelling again, ribs hurting again. I had 5 days where I had some relief. Don't think a this dampness with the rain is helping either.

Wandering Scot presently living in Mexico and recently diagnosed with PMR
Do any of you disagree with me about the
leflunomide
? Is there anything else I should/could be doing? Thank you.

absence from work
I’ve now been give
leflunomide
too to try and help but everything takes so long to build up. I’ve now had so much time off work I’m at risk of losing my job. has anyone else’s been through this? I’m just not sure what I’m supposed to do.
