Bewildered, disappointed and arrgghh angry too, after Rheumy visit.
His parting comment really confused me, "Keep on with the slow steriod reduction plan and the
leflunomide
" I have made an appt with my GP to discuss, but am unsure of what to do, as I'm confused.

Arava and beneficial weight loss.
I'm also on Cimzia, but it wasn't holding up as monotherapy, so I started Arava (
leflunomide
). I've been on it a month and a half. For the first time I've actually benefitted from the side effect of weight loss, 11 pounds in 3 weeks!

So, I've taken my first leflunomide tablet
and I'm having another peruse of the Patient Information Leaflet. Apparently I should be on the look out for: weakness mouth ulcers paleness tiredness weight loss dizziness abnormal skin sensations tendonitis anaemia leucopaenia..... Problem is - that's me on a good day! :P

I'm to move from mtx to
Leflunomide
. Slightly disappointed as I had high hopes for the mtx after failing on the ssz. I'm to have one tablet a day for 2 weeks then if all ok, move to 2 tablets. If this doesn't help then she said anti tnf? ?? are next. Think that's right.

Bad taste in mouth
I have to come off
Leflunomide
after only taking it for 6 months as I have very little taste and when I do everything tastes of salt especially when drinking tea! So after a month's break am going on Sulphasalozine - may not have spelt that right!

Frustrated
They were due to confer on Monday with my consultant to discuss changing me over to
Leflunomide
and possibly going back on steroids. My Nurse then said that she would ring me with a prescription.

Back and still Bats!
The side-effects from the
leflunomide
have definitely eased as well, but I'm not noticing any particular improvement in my RD. My joints are still very swollen. I'm trying very hard to stay off my steroids because I don't want them to mask the new med.

Still hopeful......
Due to the nausea, headaches and extreme hair loss, she thinks it would be better to come off the mtx and try
Leflunomide
instead. Have also been on sulphasalazine which did wonders in six weeks but unfortunately I reacted very badly to with the sun in 7° weather!

Feeling hopeful
Well after 6 months of pure hell, having come off biological therapy I saw the consultant who has started
leflunomide
for me. Fingers crossed it helps get this wretched disease under control. Is it too much to ask for a day or two of painless living or a day where work isn't a struggle.

Leflunomide blues
Gah. I don't know if it's the med, the combination of meds, coming to the end of my prednisone taper, the heat, vitamin deficiency, or just my brain shutting down, but I feel yuck. I'm very dizzy and it feels like my brain only works in fits and starts. When I go out I'm easily overwhelmed by sound or

Diet?????
So finally got put on
leflunomide
. Been on this for about 2 months and still everything feels the same. Numb legs and a bakers cyst on my leg so can't bend either. So hence not bending properly hurts my back. I am looking for any herbal type therapies or even through diet to help.

Enbrel and Sulphasalazine
I am terrified of this new DMARD since I was on MTX and
Leflunomide
in the past and both caused significant hair loss, crispy fingernails and made me feel and look old. My new hair growth is now about 3 inches long and I am feeling younger again. I really want to skip the SSZ.
