Does this mean how I may not be having a lap and instead having a
laparotomy
? Any advice or anyone go through something similar? I’m worrying about this all weekend I kind of wish I never answered the phone now 😳

Running out of treatment options, please help me
Is t feasible to undergo a
laparotomy
for them to have a proper look around? What about total peritoneal excision? I cannot keep doing this, I’m exhausted physically and mentally and it’s edging to towards a breakdown. Thanks for reading this essay and thanks in advance

Can’t deal with this pain anymore. No fight left
They said ‘we don’t want to operate without your notes, as we don’t know what we’re dealing with’ (I previously have had a laparoscopy that converted into a
laparotomy
with a large endometrioma twisted around my Fallopian tube) I still don’t know why it was turned into a
laparotomy
I’m convinced they

New and freaked out!
New here :) I recently had a
laparotomy
to remove a large cyst, and they found stage 4 endometriosis.

4 years later and still no diagnosis. Please help!!
I woke up in the recovery room in the most hideous pain ever, and was told there were complications and they'd had to perform a
laparotomy
to open me up and remove my Fallopian tube which was scarred with adhesions and had got rid of the chocolate cyst.

Bleeding on Zoladex
Had various laparoscopies and a
laparotomy
. Went in to have two ovarian cysts removed last November, surgeon perforated my bowel, had a stoma for 7 months (worst time of my life!) thankfully it is now reversed. Am now on Zoladex monthly injections and HRT.

Surgicel Hemastat - anyone had this?
Finally got my notes back from my consultant after my laparoscopy/
laparotomy
back in June. (With Photos! Urgh) My bowel was stuck to my uterus wall, and both ovaries tethered by adhesions behind my uterus (kissing ovaries) as well as a cyst on my right ovary.

Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy and Excision of Endometriosis...
I had my right ovary removed 9 years ago although only went in for laparoscopy, ended up with
laparotomy
due to large cyst and it being easier to remove ovary than prise the sticky 🤢 cyst off.

Feeling a bit out of the know
" Do I know that on 6th Aug I'm having a
laparotomy
with removal of left ovary, large cyst and I would assume the endometriosis?

Stage IV endo - IVF
I have had 2 laparoscopies and finally last year had a
laparotomy
where I had to have a bowel resection (with ileostomy) & stents in kidney tubes they removed a massive amount of adhesions and scar tissue but as we all know that only results in more scar tissue!!!

Recent Salpingetomy and Fertility Issues
What was initially a laproscopic procedure became a
laparotomy
as it was a burst abscess turning sceptic. It ruined my left fallopian tube, damaged the right, and adhered my left tube to the bowel that all needed fixed.

Update: 2 Months Since My Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy
I had no fear from with the previous laparoscopys but this will be open
laparotomy
myomectomy and the recovery will be tough. Has anyone got any advice on this procedure, like how you found the recovery? I don’t care about scars, that’s not even an issue with me.

For any women who had chocolate cyst removed at first laparoscopy when also diagnosing Endo
By sticking to small laparoscopy cuts or did they have to do
laparotomy
? Have signed consent for
laparotomy
in case needed. Does this sound similar to you? Lap Friday 20th April.

The good thing is my consultant surgeon is going to attempt this with robotic surgery, and only if this fails will he reopen my scar for further
laparotomy
. So had pre med today and will have surgery on the 30th April, I came out smiling hubby said your like a Cheshire Cat that got the cream.

Obsessively researching
I ended up having an emergency
laparotomy
after they saw my insides were filled with black liquid so they assumed my bowel had perforated. As you might have guessed it wasn't my bowel but a large chocolate cyst that had ruptured.

Endometrioma cyst with septum & symptoms but normal CA125?
She has put me in for a laparoscopy but because I have had a
laparotomy
in the past, the scar tissue may mean that they will need to perform a
laparotomy
again and I have an appointment with the surgeon on the 1st of May where I presume we'll discuss things in more detail and decide on a date.
