Have I cardiac haemolytic anaemia or haven't I?
I have been borderline anaemic for some years and it seems that my TAVI a year ago and the consequent medication may have pushed me over the threshold. On May 31 a haematologist wrote to my GP following tests on

to say that "it is likely [that I have] cardiac haemolytic anaemia". But

what’s new?
I previously posted requesting any recommendations for a local endo and totally understand why this was shut down but thought it would make more sense to ask a separate question for the second part of my post. It’s now about 10 years since I last saw an endocrinologist and have been managing my thyroid

I’m fine. Really?
Brain fog is a brilliant description that no one can really understand until they experience it. I feel like my brain is surrounded by a thick cotton wool-like layer that makes me want to just lie down and close my eyes - except that makes me dizzy. What the heck is happening to me? I’m 65 and moved

How long before eating?
General advice is leave at least 30 minutes after taking tablets before eating. I’ve seen other advice saying it should be 60 minutes. The reasoning being that there is “better absorption” but no one defines what that means. What I want to know is what difference does it actually make to absorption

Update on MichaelJH
Good morning! I rang Michael last night as I saw elsewhere that he was quite unwell. At the start of the week he woke early feeling rather strange and thought it best to check his blood glucose level. It was fine but he was having trouble focussing on the phone screen (Libre 2 sensor). The room started

Will Anti TPO - Thyroid peroxidase antibodies show the same thing as Thyroglobulin antibodies ?
Years ago I had a full thyroid panel which included tsh , free t4 , free t3 and Thyroid Peroxidase Ab IU/mL . My result was : 0.84 IU/mL The Range: 0 - 5 IU/mL But my GP didn’t check thyroglobulin antibody levels surely if I had any autoimmune thyroid problems wouldn’t the Thyroid peroxidase pick

NDT vs T4 T3 combination therapy
Hello everyone. Please share your experience NDT vs combination therapy. Currently I am on combo but still have symptoms (I have no thyroid). I am doing better on combo than on T4 only. I want to try NDT and see if it will make me feel better. Since both of them mainly contain T4 T3 may I expect significant

Hi Guys, New to this forum but have 7 years tackling & experimenting with nutrition for Hashimotos. With a keen background in nutrition I was determined to address it with this and avoid any thyroid drug interaction if possible. My antibodies were as high as 3500 at worst and are now 528 and dropping

New Hashimotos diagnosis
I've been suffering for 4 or so years, 2 years ago had a fibromyalgia diagnosis when nothing else was found. TsH was the only thing ever checked. I went back again last week and demanded more. My TSH is back down from 4 to 1.9mol/l, T4 is 10mol/l, T3 is 4 and two sets of thyroid antibodies at 245. I'm

Advice please for next Roseway appt
What size T4 capsules should I ask for next? I currently take 125mcg split as 2 x 50 and 1 x 25. I'm taking Roseway's compounded T4 capsules so they can't easily be split. I had to test this week as I need my appointment next week in order not to run out, but I only completed my transition from NDT

Bloating and thyroxine hormone absorption
Would bloating of the digestive system after some liquid medication I have been given for an infection affect the T4 tablet absorbtion? I am also avoiding lactose and have noticed an improvement in the absorption but I have not managed gluten at the moment due to trying to recover. I know T4 is absorbed

Since my menopause I feel like my T3 is needing upped. Any advice on my recent blood tests?
My t.s.h was sitting at about 7.9 and I'm not feeling at my optimal. Usually my T.s.h is in between 2.5 -4.5 ish. Since menopause and getting older I feel I definitely need an upped dose! Any advice from those with t3 experience. My T4 is low at 4ish and my t3 is high because of my treatment at 8ish

Chronic kidney disease
My recent GP-ordered blood tests have revealed chronic kidney disease. I have been told that an appointment will not be necessary. My creatine count is very high this time but B12 etc. are fine. Should I worry; everything online says this is serious.

Rheumatologist advices no reduction of prednisolone while adrenal glands not working and has issued emergency hydrocortisone kit
I've had PMR since October 2020 and managed to get down to 2.5mg of prednisolone in February 2023. But after a flare, I had to raise it to 5mg and have been pain-free since then. I started on methotrexate weekly injections (15mg) in December 2023, with the hope of being able to reduce the prednisolone

Should I increase my dose of Levo?
My potted history is in my profile. My current predicament is that after 7 months of feeling awful, on 5th July I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (I could have told them earlier myself!), given Levothyroxine by the endocrinologist (50 micrograms per day), who said would test me again in two months.
