FREE T3
I just sent for my full thyroid from medichecks. I went over an old test back in 2015 a FREE T3 only done privately. Never diagnosed with thyroid issues NHS keep saying all is normal. What can FREE T3 be with? Is this auto immune or just T3 hormone issues? My result back then said my result was

Ferritin update
Hello. As I mentioned before I have a monthly blood test. This time I asked for details regarding my ferritin levels. At my previous test it was 144. I believe that's a good reading. Thanks

T3 T4 Dosing
Hi, I took levothyroxine only for years (since 2007) - constant adjustment of dose between 75mcg and 100/75mcg alternate days as always had hypo symptoms. Most recent dose 100/75mcg daily. Just seen endo (well endo's registrar actually) and started on T3/T4 combination therapy. He put me on a dose

How to describe if you have been told you have under active thyroid in layman’s terms
I read the questions/answers with interest, but not being a numpty I want to know what is happening to my body there is talk of t3:t4 etc, what do they all mean? Can anybody advise me in sentences that explain it plainly or is there a recommended book that details what is happening and why. I realise

Daridexorant / quvuviq and RLS
Just wondering if anyone else has experience of this sleep aid and RLS? I have bought (not available in my region on NHS yet) a month’s supply of 50mg tablets and ….. I am sleeping normally!!!! It is a new drug to the UK but tried and tested in USA I believe? Apparently minimal side effects. I have

Hi everyone, My first post here. I’d be interested in opinions on my most recent Medichecks results. Levels have been a little erratic in the last couple of years with the smallest possible dose changes (+/- 25mcg per week). I also have IBS. I’ve been in the hypothyroid game a long time so I’m very

GPs! Lack of knowledge.
Continuation of RLS with GP. Ferritin levels are 50, normal apparently! I take Ropinirole 4mg and 210mg iron tablets to try and raise Ferritin. The GP keep stating that my levels are normal and there was very little she could do or suggest…her knowledge was very limited. How would you continue this

Scottish Medicines appraisal of voclosporin
Do you live in Scotland? Do you have lupus nephritis or care for someone with lupus nephritis? The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) are currently conducting an appraisal to decide whether voclosporin, a new treatment for lupus nephritis, will be commissioned for use by the NHS in Scotland. LUPUS

Hashimoto's blood test and cortisol tests
I have been asked by my GP Surgery to provide them with the list of blood tests I believe are correct for a patient with Hashimoto's. I don't seem to be able to find it. Would someone be kind enough to show me where I may find it please? Is it the same as under active blood test or are there 'extras'

Flare after short synacthen test
I've been on Pred since April 2022, starting at 15mg and have reduced to 3.5mg - it has taken work, but I've used Dorset Lady's super slow reduction protocol and it has got me to where I am now. I had a short synacthen test 3rd July to see if I would be able to come off Prednisolone, but had to immediately

Food as medicine recommendations
I am educating myself via all the posts (thank you to all the regular posters). Is there a summary anywhere or a recommended book of how to ensure you are making the most of what you eat / don’t eat? For example, I just read that I need to eat steak and chips (great news) to help support optimal ferritin

total knee replacement triggering RLS
I had a left knee replacement surgery April 10th this year. My right knee is also “bone on bone” from osteoarthritis and I’m dreading getting a second one as its been a rough recovery, and the RLS return has me worried too. 4 months out I’m getting stronger week by week although I’m definitely not

Hypothyroid to Hyperthyroid??
Hi all, I’m hoping someone here might be able to cast some light on what’s happening to me at the moment. I have been hypothyroid for the last 37 years and have been on 100mcg all that time, never any problems. However, my last routine checkup my blood tests came back and one of them was 64.4 just

One more step along the road I go 🎵
I ‘piggybacked’ on someone else’s post yesterday - apologies - as it opened up a line of thought but which I was rightly advised to post separately. This is it. Could someone help harness my straying thoughts re converting T4 to T3? I’ve been on a low dose, 75mcgs levo for two years now, initially

PGTA testing embryos made from donor eggs
Hello I appreciate there will be differing views and experiences with this. Has anyone PGTA tested their egg donation embryos? I have had 2 miscarriages and TFMR at 15 weeks (all own eggs) due to chromosomal issue that we didn't know about until we went for our NHS scan at 12 weeks. I will never forget
