Hi Everyone, I’ve been documenting my story on here both for advice for myself and also for others to follow should they be in a similar situation…. Quick recap…. I have now been under the care of a Haematologist for nearly 3 years after being referred by my GP for consistently high platelet counts,

Low T4
Hi I have been taking 40mg liothyronine for 10 + years - this has never been changed. Recent trip to A & E ( very high BP) the Dr queried my low T4 levels but my GP is saying that this is normal with someone taking T3 meds.I would be very grateful for reassurance that my GP is correct .

T3 Dosing times
Hi all, I recently listened to an excellent podcast from Dr Amie Hornaman about timings and taking thyroid hormone to get the most out of the medication. Ie taking only with water and 1hr each side of eating or drinking anything (other than water). It has triggered me to be much more stringent on taking

T3/T4
Just a question if I can. Has anyone been told that T3 is the same as T4 medication? Your thoughts please as I am confused.

anyone help with article that states that it is not alright to prescribe different doses of Liothyronine on alternate days?
I am on T3 and Levo 75mcg. but I feel hypo since I was taken off 10mcg T3 daily and put onto T3 at 10mcg /5mcg on alternate days Has anyone a reference regarding this unorthodox prescribing of T3 in split different doses I can send to him to support my case against this splitting of the T3 like

Why does the British Thyroid Foundation not recommend T3 for Hypothyroidism?
I was gathering information about T4, T3 and thyroid in general, when I came across a page on the BTF site that says treating hypothyroidism with T3 is NOT recommended and that treating it with T4 alone has better results. I was a little bit surprised by this statement and wondered what their thinking

Post Covid B12 and Vitamin D crash
Hi,I have had multiple health problems since my first bout of Covid in 2022, and blood panels revealed low B12, D and very low ferritin (11). I started having B12 injections and got my ferritin to 159 and my folate up to 45 from 5. I was feeling healthy and many of my symptoms had stopped. I had been

raised HbA1c
I told my GP I hadn’t had any bloods done for well over a year when I went regarding a skin problem. She only ordered FBC and HbA1c. Unfortunately no ESR or U&E’s. I’m a bit upset as HbA1c gone up to 50 which puts me in diabetic realm. I try to keep carbs low but ‘could do better’. Just had message

Adrenal support - early days of T3
Hi I have recently started on Liothyronine - followed advice to start slowly and all seems to be going well. I am also on very regular B12 injections. I have a question about supporting adrenal glands. I had (may still have…) low morning cortisol, was given a Short Synacthen test which I passed but

Teva ingredients
I've been taking teva for a couple of years, no issues except when first taking, but ok afterwards. My question is have the ingredients altered? The packaging has changed,I'm feeling symptomatic at times, but may need to tweak t4 or t3 will give bloods soon.

worse after b12 injection
really confused what and where to go from here… I had a b12 hydroxy shot done 3 days ago and I have had so much brain fog, fatigue and just feel spacey ever since. I also do have currently low ferritin of 20 and my b12 was around 250 prior to injection. I had been told people felt better straight away

Basal body temp dip - miscarriage?
Morning - I'm 6 + 1 weeks and I've used Natural Cycles for years to track my cycle, and since ovulation my temperature went from 36.3-5 to consistently hovering around 36.9. However I measured my temperature Monday and this morning, and it's dropped to 36.7 (have attached a screenshot of my graph).
