Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication Being Suggested...?
Hi, I'm new to this forum, so apologies if I'm not making anything clear. After almost 2yrs suffering from a chronic cough, my consultant seems certain it is being caused by GERD. Originally, I felt the cough was due to a lung issue, reinforced by the fact that as an ex-serviceman I had been caught

Zero day prednisolone and goodbye GCA
Happy to report that my plan of reducing prednisolone over 15 monthly reductions has gone to plan! Tapered from 40mg June 2016 to zero today. This is my first day medication free (of prednisolone and its associated team , omeprazole, calcium and aspirin). From previous postings I understand my good

What can I take in place of omeprazole for inflammation of the stomach as I've just been diagnosed with Osteo porosity and got no info from doctor as he was a locum and does not know my history.

Endoscopy - feeling scared
Hi, I joined this forum to see if others had experienced similar symptoms to me. 4 weeks ago I started to have shooting pains in my stomach, heartburn, indigestion and pressure in my chest (never had heartburn before really). I was given 4 weeks of 20mg Omeprazole to no avail. Then pains down right

why can't doctors listen
I had a long-awaited gastroenterologist appointment today which I found extremely frustrating. I try and keep an open mind that the doctors may be right and I may be wrong but if they don't produce strong evidence and reasoning to show me I'm wrong then I don't find it easy to just take their views

Omeprazole
I was diagnosed with IBS at least 8 years ago, and possibly earlier than that I didn't really realise what it meant but I started to change my diet seriously by excluding, wheat, gluten, dairy and reducing my sugar intake. Despite this in the last year I have been waking up with serious cramps. Buscopan

Can anyone advise me how safe are these two drugs over a long period of time and as to whether it is advisable to stop taking them or reduce their amount? I also have grade two oesophagitis so not

Latest Bloods "Normal". Suggestions?
Apologies, but I had no response when I appended this comment to my existing thread, so I thought I'd start a new one. Well, as usual, despite fatigue, unsteadiness, etc. my blood results are all "normal". B12 is in the 600s (although I have been supplementing with sublingual 1000ug), folate is above

Severe upper abdomenal pain
Hello fellow members Yesterday I spent over 6 long hours in emergency with severe upper abdomenal pain. This had been going on for days accompanied by severe weakness, lightheadedness and gray pallor. The only relief came when I was given intravenous pain killers. All bloodwork and even the ultrasound

Meds at 17?
Hi guys, I have had anxiety that has grown for the past months. However, I noticed my health issues (migraines, stomach issues) have made it a lot worse and triggered panic attacks. I thought I was finally done with migraines because I was a month and a half free of a painful migraine that needed a painkiller

Any thoughts please?
Back in mid July, I saw a consultant who told me I had cirrohsis, (alcohol related). My tests from a scan in March had been 'lost' or something similar. I have never been informed on the results of the scan, just that I have cirrohisis. Subsequently I have had blood tests and a gastroscopy. I have the

Does Sertraline and Quetiapine (antidepressants) cause constipation?
I have been on Sertraline & Quetiapine for one year now. My Psychiatrist told me they only cause diarrhoea and I may have ibs. Gp put me on Omeprazole and Mebeverine, but the cramping lessened, so I take Omezaprol but not the Mebeverine. Because I'd have to take it three times a day before food, but

CA125 still good (I think)
Hi all. Just giving an update on my condition. I had a CA125 last month of 8, which my consultant assures me is fine. However it has normally been 6 or 7 when I am in remission, and so am just a little nervous about this level of 8, though my oncologist thinks it is most likely to be just normal
