Levothyroxine & Midodrine
hello, I wonder if anyone has any experience taking levothyroxine & midodrine at the same time. I was started on midodrine 3-4 weeks ago and have just increased to 5mg 3x a day as these have a short half life and I have to take my last one 2-3pm to prevent impact to my sleep, it has been tight to fit

Endo and the menopause
After several years of everything being quite quiet period wise I seem to be entering the peri menopause. I have been bleeding constantly since the end of july and have three occasions of epic flooding for a few hours at a time :( The GP has done a smear and swabs and i am waiting for a scan to check

pred & surgery
Morning everybody! I am in the early stages of needing a hip replacement. Could anyone explain why some surgeons want you off pred completely before they operate while others don’t. I am currently on 1/2 mg. All the advice on this site has been a lifeline to me over the last three years. Many thanks.

Newbie with PV and questions!
Hi everyone, new to the forum. I'm 50 and was told I have Polycythaemia Vera last week. Probably like many of you on here, I ended up getting diagnosed with PV as a coincidence. I complained at my GP about persistent and worsening hip pain when walking. Eventually got sent for xray to check for arthritis

Help change Health Professionals' attitudes to FM and FM diagnosis - your experiences, please... Sorry, a bit of a long read...
Background to my question.
Just had my second total knee replacement and my lovely Physio Salma at my hospital is particularly interested in trying to change attitudes toward FM in certain health sector groups and has made this a major part of her Senior Physio Thesis for which she is presenting

T3 "eating" up my HRT hormones? Hypo
I am hypo and have been taking T3 only for a couple of weeks after previously taking nothing (I cannot get on with levo, and a T3 only regime worked brilliantly for me 4 years ago but this was before I hit menopause). I am self medicating as I cannot afford a specialist. I use a HRT patch and my menopausal

Update and advice needed
Hi, Just an update on my husband and a little advice please. (He's just turned 71) After having a massive flare of PMR and suffered with Carpal tunnel syndrome and sleep deprivation. He is finally in a better place. He has a bone density scan in September, should have been earlier, but he missed

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with early menopause years when I was c.45 & took hrt until I got an under active thyroid, c4 years ago.. I’ve noticed some vaginal atrophy, which bothers me, although I’m currently single, I hope I won’t always be. Is this just something I have to accept? The journey

Techie measuring help please
Due to a full hip replacement I do my running at an outdoor gym on an elliptical cross trainer. I'm up to (usually) 3 x 1hr in a week. My Apple Watch says I'm going about 5.7 miles. Wasn't too unhappy with this as it's nearly 10k However today I happened to record a walk with my husband at 4 miles in

Knee replacement
Morning my lovely friends! I have to have a knee replacement in the very near future. I am on 4 mg Pred, can probably get down to 3,5 mg. before I have it. Your experiences please —— I am 80 years old and really worried about it. I do understand that it is very very painful but does the Pred hinder

Anxiety Struggle
Good morning, well here goes another day. As soon as I wake up I think I can hear my heart pounding and just seem anxious all day. I was taken off Citalopram back in March following a heart event (not a heart attack but diagnosed with CAD with a narrowing in my LAD, no stent needed at the moment). I

A paper on the approach to optimization of hypothyroid therapy including combination therapy.
This new paper (downloadable) examines the problem of trying to optimally prescribe thyroid hormones for hypothyroidism. It's very technical, but the conclusions may be of interest. It uses a modelling system to try to gain an insight into good prescribing. Front. Endocrinol., 24 June 2022 https:
