Nighttime angina
I have mild ischaemic heart disease and had occasional exercise-related attacks of angina which now seem well-controlled on Nicorandil 10mg, half-tablet am and pm. A few months ago, I had surgery on a badly-broken femur, and a number of temporary medications including morphine and codeine. Since then

Radioactive iodine versus surgery.
What are your experiences of Radioactive
Iodine
or surgery for Graves’ disease. I am trying to decide which one to have.

Think I'm just starting out... Heart Inflammation/Myocarditis
Hi all, I've replied to a couple of posts so far but not actually written one myself. I'm not usually one for writing spiels but I'm wondering if it might be cathartic for me, and maybe someone can offer more insight, or get some from this. This seems to be a lovely, supporting space from what I've

Just received the full copy of my blood test where I can see my TSI
My TSI is 1.20 (0.00 - 2.00) Does it mean that I ddi not have Graves and RAI is not right treatment for me? Thank you very much for your opinions.

Doctor says its dangerous to take carbimazol for long time and advise RAI considering its less harmful...
I just saw today my doctor and asked her why I can not continue my treatment with carbimazol(I feel good but just have big goiter) She insisted that taking carbimazol for life is not posible, that I will have the complications with heart because of it. Is it true? (I was taking 5mg ,now she wants

Feeling like something us stuck in my throat - Hashis/subclinical hypothyroidism
- i cant see any goitre or lumps externally - i have never really had any major symptoms other than struggling to get pregnant which is why i had blood tests initially I have read it could be due to
iodine
deficiency? I don't think i have had this checked - any ideas what it might be? .

Pregabalin, Dosage thoughts?
Hi, I restarted Pregabalin in Feb. this year partly I have to say out of desperation, there being nothing else prescribeable available to me, GP had allowed me to trial Codeine but it took 90mg to suppress symptoms and there was no way that was going to be viable long term, more potent Opioids were

Elevated TSH despite its suppression
I had a complete thyroidectomy and underwent radio
iodine
therapy. I take a high dose of T4 and normally my TSH level is 0.5 or below. In two recent blood tests my TSH was around 6mcUI/ml, just above and below, and T4 was at the upper limit (1.7ng/dl on last test, lab's max is 1.72).

What’s my Options
I am finding it very difficult as whenever I have consultations, I am being leaned on/pushed to have Radioactive
Iodine
right now while I am stable, even though I have said several times this is not the treatment I want for myself.

CBD oil for pain?
hi folks. Anyone use CBD oil for pain? Now that I cannot take NSAIDs I have a huge rise in anti inflamm pain. I have tried codeine with no impact. Also not wanting opioids. Not sure what to try next but someone mentioned CBD Oil. Any help would be hugely appreciated. My go to meds are paracetamol

An Unusual False-Positive Uptake of Radioiodine Caused by Breast Implants
If the issue applies, make sure you discuss properly with anyone who wants to give you radioactive
iodine
. I suspect it will be at the obscure end of the scale. [i]Clin Nucl Med. 2022 Mar 30. doi: 10.1097/RLU.0000000000004165. Online ahead of print.

Iodine Testing
Hi Can anyone recommend an
Iodine
test? I have read that a 24 hour loading test is the best and to also test for Bromide and Flouride as they can block absorption but I'm not sure where to get this done. Many thanks!

Thyroidectomy or Radioactive Iodine Treatment?
I used to lecture in radiation usage and safety and have concerns over the
Iodine
, especially as I also have a blood cancer and I have read about the affect on the bone marrow. The Endo seems to be pushing me that way but is that just re cost or is the RAI just easier and better?

Iodized or non iodized salt in hypothyroid ?
In USA we get enough
iodine
from our food. Recently I saw a non-iodized Salt and purchased it thinking that people with thyroid should avoid
iodine
. Your thoughts please!
