Best treatment for Post PV/MF ?
Ruxolitinib or
interferon
? I was diagnosed with pv in 2017. 2 years of hydroxy, then ruxolitinib at 20mg a day. A bmb in december showed progression to mf. Grade 2 fibrosis. The rux has recently been increased to 30mg a day along with 1 iron tablet on alternate days.

Interferon and Hypothyroidism
What I am worried about is if on
interferon
and they are monitoring my thyroid and my result changes but is still in their range they will say it’s normal and I won’t be feeling well. And I wont know if it’s the
interferon
or my thyroid.

Hyperthyroid update
I was put on carbi for 18months after which, nothing until after almost a year of
interferon
injections for ET ( MPN) in 2021. I had not realised before or even put two and two together.

Help! anagrelide
I've an appointment tomorrow to decide on next treatment and there's lots of info on
interferon
but not for anagrelide. I've got AT jak2 plus seronegative arthritis and spinal nerve damage,so I take another cytoxic drug which reduces my immune system.

The time has come
I start taking peg
interferon
early January. I've not got the greatest haemotologist in the world and he's simply told me to pick up the prescription from the hospital pharmacy and go to 2a, whatever that is, and they will teach me how to administer it.

Approved or Trials of RBC lowering drugs?
I have been losing the battle using
interferon
. I'm currently taking about 145mcg's of Pegasys and my neutrophils just dipped to .87 while my HCT is still in excess of 45. I've been at this dose for several months.

Coincidence or not?
Diagnosed ET May 2017, started on Hydroxycabamide June 2018 and switched to
Interferon
in May this year. Whilst I was taking Hydroxy I had no periods for around 4 years, since coming off it and starting
Interferon
my periods have come back with a vengeance!

ET: Changing from HU to Jakafi or an Interferon treatment
Additionally does anyone know if it's possible to go from Jakafi to an
Interferon
(in case I don't tolerate Jakafi)? Many thanks in advance for details of any relevant experiences.

COVID and Pegylated Interferon
At my last Haematology appointment the Dr told me that
Interferon
helps strengthen the immune system. I have also read that
Interferon
has been given to some patients with COVID to help with their recovery. I therefore wonder if the latest upcoming booster vaccination is required.

Big Question
I see Monarch mentioned on another thread that he knew of others who progressed when they stopped and had to go on higher doses of Peg
interferon
. I would not want that. Thank you all for being here.

Pegasys for MF transitioning from hydroxycarbamide
The hematologist was talking about introducing pegasys
interferon
injections, after her 3 bags of red cells and a ferinject. She is worried about losing her head of hair, as it's a bit thinner than it was, and she doesn't want to lose it.

Trouble getting interferon?
We have talked about trying
interferon
, but my Dr is convinced that it is extremely hard if not impossible to get the drug right now. Has anyone else experienced a problem getting your hands on
interferon
? I live in North Idaho, so I'm not sure if our remoteness is part of the problem.

AST, ALT high
Hi, while been on
Interferon
journey my AST and ALT rocketed up high to 64 for ast and 92 for alt.Is this change a concern ? How can I maintain liver enzymes ? I am on a low carb high fat diet but I am using all the healthy ingredients. Not sure if related.

Pegasys starting dose for PMF
I have read that must begin with a lower dose of
interferon
because of the adverse effects. Now platelets have reached 1200 because the reduction of Hydrea. I am really worried how will I react at 135 Pegasys. Has anyone the same situation like me? My hem dr. is not a MPN specialist.

Also since I see people on different dosing intertervals and I pay per dose apparently - wonderting if 45 every two weeks the same as 90 monthly for a drug like
interferon
(and can the body handle that). thanks
