My Sister's Death

Health News: Nourishment for Eyes
When my Mom was 6, an Alsatian (German Shepherd) dog jumped up on her, jarring her head round to look, left her with a cast in her right eye. Known as strabismus, the ancient Greek for squinting. More accurately, it means the affected eye can’t really focus and can thus appear as a cross-eye. Off her

Long term side effects of using steroids
https://www.verywellhealth.com/steroid-side-effects-83089 A huge long description of all the problems with steroids. It was not till I saw specialists like Endocrinologist AND Rheumatologist that I was made more aware of the concerns. My PCP loves steroids., like just take more insulin, how about 50%

Private endo strongly suspects I have PCOS
Hello, I have Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism and am on 162.5 mcg levo and 25 mcg T3. I'm slightly over medicated and trying to lower my dose gradually. Today I saw a private endo for the first time who looked at my fasting insulin (6.6) and said it shows I have insulin resistance. My testosterone is

I am down to 2mg prednisone. Not noticing typical PMR symptoms
After I got on Methotrexate and Hydroxychloroquine, the right hand wrist and finger swelling went away, and I was able to start dropping pred from 5 to 4 to 3 to 2 now. While I am glad for this, I am mad that only a rheumy was smart-experienced enough to think of it, I likely could have saved months

Needle disposal hack
I use a B D Safe Clip available on Amazon for insulin needles. I snap the needle off and throw the rest in the normal trash. I used to keep all the items used for injecting to be able to prove I was not using controlled substances. It is illegal to import B12 for injecting in the USA, it is not currently

Paleontology Diet – By Dr Barry Durrant-Peatfield
Excerpt from the transcript of a talk given by the late Dr Barry Durrant-Peatfield at one of TPA's Annual Conferences several years ago.
I'm posting this here because we've recently had a few questions/posts about extreme diets such as the carnivor diet. Personally, I think what Dr Peatfield

Quite a good bit of deep red blood in stool **graphic photo of just blood**(stool is blotted out of picture)
This happened yesterday morning. It also has happened a few times before. It's not continuous but rather comes and goes. It could be months before it happens again. I might add that I'm a diabetic with uncontrolled diabetes currently. I have pcos as well. I'm on anxiety meds along with insulin.

Zoe reveals poor blood sugar control?
Can anyone explain why my blood sugar control appears to be poor? I read hypoglycaemia is uncommon except in hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s 🤷🏽♀️ I’ve just started the Zoe nutrition programme. I’m working through their introductory activities eating various combinations and seeing blood sugar responses

Help!
In the last few years I have put on a lot of weight on my stomach.. but have very slim arms and legs. My waist is now 48 inches. I cannot wear anything that zips up etc around my waist. I am normally a 32 inch waist. I have had my pituitary gland looked at, and it is slightly enlarged, but nothing

Alternating between 3 and 4 mg pred now
I was at 5 for a few weeks, now doing another drop. Not noticing any unusual additional pains. Doing 3 and 4 for a week and things are good. Still have the trigger finger issue of both middle fingers and they have a neuropathy, oddly numb and sometimes painful I have to put up with. I was wondering

Puppy sitting, infections, transplant impatience and the importance of taking photos
Another couple of months have flown by since my last post! Sadly no transplant calls in that time but I did have to go a short time off the list in order to kick a chest infection into touch. Over that now and back on the list which is great news. Doing my best to soldier on with the exercise but been
