Feeling sorry for myself
I've always eaten a healthy diet. Food cooked from scratch virtually every day. We never had takeaways or fast food. I've never smoked and don't drink. ( I sound like a real barrel of laughs don't I?) I had graves disease when I was 32, which is in autoimmune condition and am type 2 diabetic. As were

New to diabetes type 2
I am 76 yrs old and was a research scientist. I was non-diabetic till a year back with normal fbs and ppbs and HbA1C of 5.9 to 6.1 till then. But then this year, in the month of February, I was shocked to find that my fbs became 430 and ppbs 750 and HbA1C of 17.3. I was on insulin for about three weeks

Do not skip Breakfast!
Do you regularly skip your breakfast? If yes, you are making yourself more vulnerable to develop type-2 diabetes. Whenever you deprive yourself of food or go long without eating anything, your insulin levels are disrupted significantly and this in-turn might lead to this debilitating health condition

Beta Blockers and Diabetes
Is anybody aware of the link between Beta Blockers, Insulin, Hyperglycaemia, and Diabetes ? Is anybody aware Beta Blockers affect (lower) Insulin secretion thus increasing blood sugar levels which may lead to Hyperglycaemia and eventual Diabetes ? I know this is not to do with AF, but then I take Bisoprolol

What am I doing?
I have been diagnosed as a manic-depressive. I am 65 years old. We have moved to Playa del Carmen in Mexico. I am at the end of my rope. My husband fell and had a double hematoma. He had emergency surgery because of the hematomas were causing problems with his breathing. If he did not have surgery

Spoiler Alert: Since the diet and supplement wars have often been fought in this forum with no one but the true-believers convinced by the arguments presented, I thought I would dedicate this post to the people who may agree with me. Of course others are free to voice their disagreement, but be warned
