ABLATION PLUS 6 MONTHS
Following on from my 3 month post, I am now really happy with the way I have recovered after a patchy first week then a very slow recovery. I still get the odd ectopic which brings me down to earth but apart from that I can get on with my life as normal (though not tried anything sporty yet). Holiday

Egfr rapidy falling
My egfr function has dropped from 18% to 13% on 3 days. I have been drinking as much water as I can and try to eat salt as Drs has advised my sodium is very low and suggest I'm not taking enough in. So anyway phoned kidney until the asked me to come in to take a look at me. Giving me some fluid. Saw

New Test Results - With A Question
I just got back my results from my latest urine and renal blood test. I was very happy to see that my creatinine level had dropped from .96 to .87! My BUN is 11. My potassium, calcium, sodium and phosphorus are all within normal limits. However, on 24-hour urine my urine creatinine clearance is low

Thyroxine and treatment of hypothyroidism: seven decades of experience
Why do we have such difficulty in finding endocrinologists who seem to understand? The abstract below seems to explain that wonderfully well. Because there are so many comments to be made, I shall depart from my usual approach and will use footnotes. I couldn't help but hear words such as "smug", "

Fluctuating GFR
Hello, it's been a while since I have been here but I have a question. My GFR about 6 months ago was 52 and my a1c was 8.7. Three months later after I went on a very strict diet my GFR was 74 and my a1c was down to 6.7. Now 2 weeks ago my GFR went back down to 66 but my a1c went down to 6.4. All of these

Cortisol results - help needed please
Hi guys, I was hoping for some help interpreting my cortisol test results. Looking at the results it looks like my adrenals are normalising? Recent bloods also showed sodium, potassium, and magnesium levels are in the high or normal range, so it looks like no more mineral dumping is going on, and I

Cortisol results – help needed please
Hi guys, Advice needed please regarding my cortisol results and related changes to adrenal symptoms. I took the test after stopping Adrenavive and prednisone for over 2 weeks, so this is a true reflection of my levels without medication. Hopefully, you will agree with my actions to phase out prednisone

Update and ideas!
I thought I’d update you on my Weekly Taxol treatment and ask for some ideas to shift a problem I have! This may be long, please bear with! I’m about to have my 9th treatment, which means I’m halfway through. Overall, this regime has suited me well, apart from a couple of emotional wobbles as I got

Help with Sodium Pico sulphate and movicol to help with soiling
I’m looking for some help. My daughter (will be 5 in September)followed a disimpaction regime about 6/7 weeks ago. This was her first disimpaction. It worked well and has lessened her soiling greatly but we are now in a cycle of 5/6 days with no accidents and then about 4 days running of constant accidents

ORS Hydration Tablets and cirrhosis
Evening all. Feeling a little dehydrated I’ve used ORS Hydration Tablets. However I’ve just seen in big bold letters DO NOT USE if you have problems with liver or kidney. It’s done now so hopefully I’ve not done any more damage but I assume the risk is high sodium to aid the fizz? So need education

Hi I may have questioned this before at an earlier time but it is still a big concern. My partner has post ET myelofibrosis. (ET for 5 years, diagnosed with myelofibrosis in April this year) He was taking hydroxycarbamide (not sure if I have spelt this right) for his ET and was started on Rux for

TBG, Reverse T3 & SHBG Issues - What Does This Mean?
Greetings and happy July all. I have Hashi's confirmed by ultrasound and blood antibodies. I am not being treated as my family doctor and encrinologist say my blood work does not justify it. I have every symptom of hypo, I mean every symptom, and I also believe I have fatigued adrenals big time. But,

More or less T4 with T3?
These are some bloods from a test a week ago. This is on 75 mcg of T4 & 30 mcg of T3. It looks to me like I'm converting the T4 into T3 pretty well. Feel good except for an occasional cold and a stiff neck that cracks like a knee popping sometimes. My endo doesn't want to prescribe any higher T4 without
