ICD/Pacemaker Job Done
Hi all. Got the implant op on Wednesday and home yesterday. Everything went like clockwork (excuse the pun). I cant praise the staff at Edingurgh Royal Infirmary enough. They were wonderful. It was a very strange experience being awake while this was going on. I could feel all the pulling pushing happening

ICD beeping at 5am
My husband had his
ICD
fitted 2 weeks ago, I heard it beeping yesterday morning at roughly 5am, it only beeped for a short while, does anyone know what this means? I know my husbands arrhythmia is worse when he's sleeping, it hasn't beeped since x

Bob update (ICD wound revision)
Bob was the pet name for a pointy lump next to my clavicle and above my

Ectopics & Fatigue
At the 6 week
ICD
checkup, they turned on Rate Response. Could this be causing the issue or could it be that the setting of 55bpm is too low? Many thanks.

ICD fitting tomorrow!
I know the choice of pacemaker or
ICD
is very much my choice, but I also know it has implications on my HGV. Advice much appreciated about going forwards.

PACEMAKERS
When they implant the pacer or
ICD
they go through one of two veins. The Auxiliary Vein or the Subclavian Vein. (At this point Google an image of those veins) They ideally want to use the Auxiliary vein but in cases like mine that was not an option so they went with the subclavian.

Finally got some information on the treatment for FND
Also look up the medical
ICD
or CPT codes prior to calling the insurance, because they might ask for it. I know because I have had to look them up via Google prior to calling.

Question for ACM/ARVC folk: Nocturnal ectopics/PVCs
Quick backstory: I was diagnosed with ACM (formerly known as ARVC) in August and had an
ICD
fitted 8 weeks ago, following a dangerous sustained VT episode in early August. Overall, I am feeling better with each week that comes.

ICD: Going under the bonnet again
My post-implantation journey had been going reasonably well until I noticed a tiny hard lump protruding just where the leads enter my subclavian vein. It was very small to begin with and appeared within a couple of weeks of surgery. I thought it was subcutaneous sutures and so left it be. I called it

Happy New Year.......
In November i had an MRI scan which thankfully showed no sign of the clot, then an
ICD
implanted. This all came out of the blue for me and was terrifying. My darling wife has been wonderful in caring for me. Suffice it to say i'm happy to see the back of 2023.

My ICD works: Mind blown and feeling wobbly
My
ICD
did its fast pacing (ATP/anti-tachy pacing) earlier this week. I've only had the device for a couple of months. It quickly and safely brought me out of a dangerously fast arrhythmia.

My Generation
. ✋ My name is Sam and I joined here a few months ago after being told that I'll be having an
ICD
unit fitted. Well that unit was fitted yesterday (29th of September, the day before my 63rd birthday) and all went well and I came home on the same day. Can I please ask a question.

Towards the end of 2022 he had an
ICD
fitted and the heart failure nurse increased his ramipril to full does with the intention of putting him on entresto. He had an echocardiogram (this year) in January 2023. We didn't find out the result until November.
