Day 2 of Obin, Ibutinib, Venetoclax Clinical Trial
The next drug is what they would have given me at Penn (
ibrutinib
) and I'm fairly confident I'll be able to handle that, too, Thanks for reading, and let me know if you have any questions. PS I will be putting this on a blog for family and friends.

End of FLAIR trail- question of dosage of Ibrutinib
I have now completed the 6 month combination of
Ibrutinib
and Rituximab on FLAIR trial. Main problem was severe joint and muscle pain, finally stopped Ib for a week- see previous post) After that 1 week on 1/3 dose, then a month on 2/3 and all well. Bloods looking good this week.

The Use Of Selective HDAC6
demonstrated that selective HDAC6 inhibition in CLL cell lines resulted in dose-dependent reductions in IL-10, a cytokine that regulates cell proliferation in CLL, as well as dose-dependent increases in cell death and a synergistic reduction in cell viability in combination with the BTK inhibitor,

What about Duvelisib and CLL?
[http://cllsociety.org/2016/05/ipi-145-duvelisib-cll/] In other news, the FDA expanded the Imbruvica® (
ibrutinib
) label to include overall survival data in previously untreated CLL and added a new indication for small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) patients.

My first appointment at MDAnderson and then the trip home.
I have been reading what I can find on
ibrutinib
and some of the side effects do worry me. I know we all react in different ways but I was wondering how common certain side effects are. They spoke of watching for Afib.

My success with Imbruvica (ibrutinib
I've posted before that for almost all of 2015 I was treated for ITB. My platelet counts ranged up and down from 2 to 50 all year. In December I switched to another doctor and he did a bone marrow biopsy and told me on Christmas Eve that I have CLL. He immediately started me on FCR, but after two

Our 1st birthday, our newsletter, and a survey on how we make treatment decision.
Mato on research with pretty good news for those who relapse after
ibrutinib
or idelalisib. And much more. Plus we have a short survey https://asktellq12016.questionpro.com on how we patients and caregivers make decisions about our therapy.

My ankles are hugely swollen, I have large calluses on my big toes, and my heels split and really hurt.
After initial chemo--and now
Ibrutinib
--the swelling is mostly gone except for my ankles. There is no pain just huge swelling that makes wearing even the largest socks almost impossible. There is no pain and no circulation problems.

ASH 2015: Dr. Jones on combining venetoclax with obinutuzumab, and details about the LRF meeting this weekend and new CLL support groups
We discussed the data for patients with relapsed/refractory CLL on combining the BCL-2 (B-cell lymphoma-2) inhibitor venetoclax with the antibody obinutuzumab, the ongoing European trials and a new study that adds
ibrutinib
to that mix. You can see a summary and view our interview here.

FLAIR Ibrutinib stopped because of pain
So I stopped the
Ibrutinib
for a week because of severe and debilitating pains, after 2 or 3 days felt much better. No pain.

Is ibrutinib enough?
Should I be seeking out more aggressive therapy, what happens/options if
ibrutinib
stops working? I'm "only" 45 with two young children and I want to be around to see graduation, weddings and grandchildren! Any info is greatly appreciated. Kelcorn ;-)
