Erythrocytes in Urine
Hi I recently started
Ibrutinib
on July 14th at 420 mg per day. The good news is all of my previously visible lymph nodes have disappeared. The bad news is on a routine urine test it was determined that there was erythrocytes in my urine and it indicated a significant amount (20-50).

New to Ibrutinib but not CLL
I just started taking
Ibrutinib
in Sept 7th; I am 79 years old and had CLL in 2011. I was treated with CFR injections which worked well but the disease has come back. No other health problems, and no history of taking any medications. I live in Portugal so food issue may be a little different.

Resistance-Associated Mutations in CLL Patients Treated With Novel Agents
In 80% of patients with
ibrutinib
failure, acquired mutations in BTK and PLCG2 genes were detected. No common resistance-associated mutations or deregulated signaling pathways have been reported in idelalisib failure.

Show I aim to try to walk with this condition
Medics say it’s very rear and I take
ibrutinib
orally plus the R from FCR in IV form and the triple chemo dose in the lumber region. The prognosis I have is quite stark and it’s not more than a year! I’m aged 64 Today is the first day I feel okay but am still dizzy and walk slowly.

Treatment time, hard choice!
Another option was BTK inhibitors (
Ibrutinib
) but I am leaning away from this, and leaning toward more aggressive, time constrained treatment. I am nearly 61 and still working, and would like to consider an option where I will be able to function well while on treatment.

YOUR OPINION PLEASE - LONGER TERM REMISSION WITH IBRUTINIB OR SHORTER TERM WITH MORE TRADITIONAL TREATMENTS THAT HAVE LESS SIDE EFFECTS?
Since
Ibrutinib
pretty much suppresses your immune system, in this time of Covid 19 (we are in Miami of all places)and the need to go for weekly blood tests, I am not happy that he is already wanting treatment to begin.

Hypertension and cardiovascular events following ibrutinib initiation
They found: - lymphoid malignancy patients treated with
ibrutinib
, the subsequent incidence of new hypertension is nearly 72%. - the development of new or worsened HTN after
ibrutinib
initiation associates with a more than twofold increased risk of other cardiac events.

My Ibrutinib/Venetoclax journey
Hi all, Hope you are all staying safe in these strange times. Anyway, yet another post on my journey. I went to the research dept for a checkup back in June. Strange visiting a very quiet hospital, but no queues so was speedy. Any way, today I had my regular check up with my consultant and he shared

Towards personalised management of CLL? Ibrutinib study reveals new way to gauge patients’ response to treatment
According to Bock’s team at CeMM, CLL cells and other immune cells that respond to
Ibrutinib
manifest distinctive epigenetic and transcriptional patterns.

Ibrutinib or venetoclax-obinutuzumab
Ibrutinib
or venetoclax-obinutuzumab? This will be my first treatment option following CLL diagnosis. Thanks. Happy to provide specific numbers from my chart if that helps.

Can Venetoclax/Obinituzimab reduce the risk of additional somatic mutations? - Not necessarily. The BTK inhibitors are excellent at....
I have patients on
ibrutinib
for over ten years now who are not MRD negative (uMRD), but are free from progression. I suspect the PFS might be better for BTK inhibitors over venetoclax based regimens. Rick Furman, MD

Can Ibrutinib give false Richter?
There is a case where his doctor refuses to treat him as the Ricther because he thinks it is the
Ibrutinib
that has resulted in large cells. This doctor says that when you leave the
Ibrutinib
for a few days the cells become large for a few days and then they become small again.

plantar fasciitis - corticosteroid
Ibuprofen does help, but is not recommended due to
Ibrutinib
, paracetamol and co-codamol just do not have any effect. Tried rolling a frozen can of beans across the heal provides some temporary relief. Anyone else with plantar fasciitis and thoughts on the immunity question? BTW.
