Hi everyone! Thought id write an update. Ive been on a phased return to work as a midwife over the last 6 weeks. Since starting the t3/t4 combo i had started to feel slightly better, much brighter mentally ( though memory is still poor) and my clinical signs became much more stable. I did still

PUPPP / PEP / itchy rash
I have had itching all over my body, except feet, hands and face, for about the last three weeks. It started off without any rash, which was concerning in case it was Obstetric Chlorestasis, but two blood tests do not indicate any cause for concern in that respect, thankfully. However, the itch is getting

Obstetric Cholestasis?
I have been itchy all over (mostly bump, arms, legs and my back) for the past couple of weeks. I haven't noticed any itchy on the palms of my hands or soles of my feet. I think the itching is getting gradually worse, last night I woke up scratching. I can't see a rash. I went to the Dr about it a

Professor Malcolm Maden, of the Medical Research Centre for Developmental Neurobiology at King's College, London,
British scientists have found that retinoic acid, a derivative of vitamin A, can reverse damage caused to the lungs by the previously incurable disease. (Q) Is there any research being carried out on human as there are on mice?

Finally got some liothyronine prescribed - but why is nothing ever straightforward??
I've been a long term lurker on this site. I've learnt so much just by reading the comments on blogs and answers to questions so I can't thank you enough for that! Just to explain, I'm not the person in my family with hypothyroid problems. That would be my husband. Except - just to explain a bit more

fostair and hydrocortisone
Just a quick one, I've been changed from Seretide 250 (2 twice a day), Fluticasone 250 (2 twice a day) and 7.5mg of prednisilone a day, to Fostair 100/6 (4 twice a day) and hydrocortisone 20mg in the morning. These changes were made based on issues of adrenal suppresion and the testing of it and nothing

Has anyone had adrenal suppression as side effect of symbicort? I have so 10mg of hydrocortisone for life and still take the symbicort.

My body is refusing to play ball and I’m struggling to keep on top of everything.
I don't think I know what to do anymore. I feel like in some way I have messed up my treatment plan but I am trying my best not to blame myself as I know that’s not healthy and circumstances are really difficult for me at the moment. I have been ill at this level for a long time and I am struggling

I've been doing T3CM at 4.30am with great results but has irritated my stomach that much I've had to stop. I could cry as energy much better on that protocol. Now I have (once tum settles and I hope

I hate to ignore people so just want to say thank you
To those who responded to my questions a few wks ago about low iron and high ferritin and t3 and hydrocortisone. Haven't been able to respond individually as just too much going on for me to deal with and my (small) support system has totally crashed and nothing seems to be working out at the moment

PCOS, M.E and hypothyroidism, low iron and high ferritin. Gosh I’m that confused today that I’m confused with what I’m confused over!
If anyone could spare the time to have a little read of my blog and questions, advise and also look over some blood results I received today I would really appreciate it. I will try not to waffle. Thanks. I have so many questions but such little energy and such poor health but will write/speak (I

Other treatments for Behcet's
I don't see many people here mention that they've been on Trental (pentoxifylline) for Behcet's ulcerations, arthritis, and fatigue. It's inexpensive and has mild anti-TNFa properties like the biologics (Enbrel, Remicade, Humira, etc.), with fewer side effects and little risk. Low-dose nicotine patches

Has anyone had difficulties coming off Prednisolone because your body has lost its ability to make its own steroids?
Having a diagnosis of WG I was on Prednisolone, 40 mgs a day, from early 2011 with gradual tapering to 5 mgs a day by Feb 2012. I have remained at that level since and the team at Addenbrookes would now like to take me off steroids altogether. However this is not possible as, following a Synachen blood

Scared to take a biologic
Hi my first time here. I am female aged 53 and have had RA since 1995 and had Sulphasalazine then after ten years went on to Methotrexate, then MTX 25mgs injectable and most recently since last year with added Lefuonimide tablets 10mg. I know this is not holding my RA much at all at the moment. My

Royal Brompton last Wednesday, and a day from hell for the first time in 7 years of catching the train to London, managed to catch a train going somewhere else, total numpty that I am! Thankfully was able to get back to Hereford quite quickly and catch another train to London quite quickly. Really
