Thyroid and HRT
Hi I have hypopituitarism and this has affected my thyroid so take 100mg of levothyroxine. I am also in HRT everol conti as I have osteopenia. I have put on 1 stone so far this year and was already overweight. This is affecting my health as I get aching joint, low energy and depression as I don’t

Couldn't Make This 💩 Up!
At 4:45 this afternoon I was back at my local surgery, for the second time in 6 hours! About an hour after I started the Nystatin and the Naseptin Nasal Cream, the palms of my hands became ridiculously itchy! I was walking around Waitrose (looking for Sauerkraut, as you do!) and looked like a woman

Yes indeeda... it is candida!
I just had the best experience! That's twice this week... I'm on a roll! It was my first ever appointment with a Nurse Practitioner at my local surgery and she was warm welcoming, empathetic and thorough! (More thorough than many of her doctor colleagues!) She confirmed I do indeed have the dreaded

Lymphoma and FND
Hello all. I mentioned in a previous post over a year ago now that my journey with Lymphoma took me to various weird places. I was ill for a number of months before I was diagnosed, I couldn't walk properly, I literally couldn't pick my feet up from the floor, I dragged my feet, it was weird. I had RCHOP

Part Two for patient readers
In fact it is worth noting that 5mg of prednisone equals 20mg of hydrocortisone. It stays longer in the system so is more effective for lung disease sufferers. She explained that the biological dosage was between 5 and 7.5mg of prednisone and I better start on the higher dosage because I was so low.

Dear BLF friends, I am home! 😊✨🌷in my pyjamas writing to you! I have been feeling poorly since this morning, thought it was the early blood test, my chest infection, the clarithromycin, the after ops..and said to myself I’m going to go home, feet up, green tea and rest! By 5pm I felt really tired

He suffers

Extreme heart rates when at rest
Hello everyone, I’ll don’t think I can keep this short as there’s a lot going on, I’m not sure I’m in the right forum either, seeing I’m new to the group, but I’ve got a strange thing going on with what I think may be palpitations, but I’m not sure. I was diagnosed with Adrenal Insufficiency in February

Synacthen test result. Furious again!
Just rung up to chase the result of my synacthen test. The nurse had told me that she would ring next day if there was any problem, so after two weeks, I've been happily assuming that there was no issue. My GP now informs me that my results show adrenal insufficiency, presumably caused by long term prednisolone

Hydrocortisone and white cell count
Hi, I have been on hydrocortisone for about 5 months now perhaps, everything was going ok until the other day I got phone call saying my wbc was low. I’m not on anything else that would affect my wbc, has anyone else had this experience with hydrocortisone? Thank you I.x

Reducing Pred and awful itching rash developed...
My husband has GCA but all seems to be going well and has been doing the very slow reduction process successfully. He is down to 3mg now then 4 weeks ago developed an itchy patch on one arm followed by the same thing on the other arm and it has just gone on spreading all over his body. The itching

Steroid dependency?
I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, but was initially wrongly diagnosed as Polymyalgia for 5yr. I was put on steroids Dec 2012, and every time I try to get below 4mgs I get symptoms of steroids struggling. He feels I may be steroid dependant, but insists we can’t take bloods to check as still on steroids.
