👂Ear, Ear 👂 Yay, it's fixed!
I just wanted to give a quick update as I had so many messages of support when I had hearing loss to the one ear that I can usually hear with last Friday. I had a bit of a panic as my other ear is profoundly deaf, and I was struggling to hear at all. My GP referred me back to the fabulous ENT department

Group B Strep meningitis
Hi folks, have just found this page so this is my first post. I wanted to share our story.. My daughter was diagnosed with meningitis at 8 days old, due to group b Strep. It was something we had never heard of, despite having another child, so it was all a bit of a blur. Not knowing it was something

Hi...new to the forum
Hi, I'm Cassie, I've just discovered the forum and am hoping to tap into your expertise! I'm still learning how it works so please bear with me! I'm a 36 year old Londoner, with one son (aged 9) and work as a breast cancer nurse. I first developed Tinnitus about 2.5 years ago. I ignored it for a few

Heparin
Hi all, I have managed to brake my ankle while on holiday, not able to explain I may have pbc, they have given me
heparin
to stop any blot clots but I'm not sure I should use it. Does anyone know if it's ok? Bearing in mind I will be flying home in 4 days. Thanks Sylvia

APS how it changed my life.
After being treated for 3 days with
heparin
and Coumadin the pain in my legs went away. The weakness also started to improve and my mind became clear and sharp again! I was having TIAs and the muscles in my legs were suffering from vascular congestion which was the real cause of my leg pain.

APS & Pregnancy - Being induced early - Advise
My pregnancy was planned so I had already switched prior to becoming pregnant from warfarin to Tinzaparin (
heparin
injections) 14,000 per day and 75mg aspirin daily. They have said from the very start that I won't be allowed to go full term and will be induced at 36 weeks.

Anticardiolipins false positive
I am pregnant again, they put me on aspirin low dose 100mg but no
heparin
shots.I am very worried they are wrong :( my hematologist said the first blood test was just too close from pre eclampsia so not accurate. She also said that going from 48 to 1.2 in 12weeks is too fast for someone with APS.

Another baby update
Aspirin and
heparin
continue to be true miracle drugs! They are even letting me go to full term this time. An almost 'normal' pregnancy. Thank goodness for modern medicine and knowledge! Anyone out there want any advice and info about my journey - never hesitate to get in touch. #nevergiveup

Worried about husband....
I'm here asking for some serious advice. I'm getting more and more worried as each day goes by and I have no-one to ask, so I've turned to this forum in the hope someone can give me some positive help. Just over a year ago, we came back from a holiday abroad and my husband noticed that he couldn't shake

I'm new here.
After spending Tuesday in the ER & IV Cardizem did not convert me, I was admitted to CCU for monitoring & for a
Heparin
Drip. I finally went back to NSR about 11pm Tuesday night in the hospital. I was released at 9pm Thursday night. My cardio now has insisted I go on Eliquis.

Professor Graham Hughes' Monthly Blog June 2017
In patients such as Mrs J.D. where the burden of illness is becoming intolerable, I have suggested a trial of 2-4 weeks (depending on response)
Heparin
injections using low molecular weight (LMW)
heparin
(which has replaced ‘old’
heparin
because of its good safety profile).

Does this sound like Meniere's disease?
After the birth of my second child, I started getting really sensitive to noise. I developed an upper respiratory cold for 2 months with a chronic cough that eventually subsided. After the cold ended, my ears started ringing for brief seconds and felt like they were equalizing. I also became very sensitive

Any Experience With ECOS/ Activase Drip Block Buster ( clot site direct Activase bath?)
Here's his question: Since your INR is over 3.5, and your hematologist does not feel comfortable using systemic
heparin
in any form, I'd like to find a rapid way to dissolve that DVT to open that occluded vein up. There is a device called an ECOS that is threaded into the arm .
