I would like to know if anyone has similar symptoms. I went to my GP 3 days ago with following symptoms: 1)Gnawing pressure discomfort lasting up to 90 seconds happening up to 8 times a day for last 4 months deep in my left ear. It may last less than 90 secs but rarely more. Pain score of 0.5 to

Hearing therapist/audiologist visit/Neuromod
Went to my hearing aid department yesterday and literally broke down (again) in front of my therapist. She reminded me that I’ve been like this before and always come through it. My hearing test showed my hearing hasn’t deteriorated, which is a relief as I thought it had. She told me that I have to put

In the event, I did what I would normally do in this situation : a 2 to 3 week trial of daily
Heparin
(low molecular weight) injections. If positive, the patient can give a clear verdict of whether we are on the right track. Mrs G.S. improved clearly on
Heparin

Tinitus after concert has ruined my life
Hi there I'm also in the same boat as many of you. I have been to concert last week without ear protection ,which I was unaware of it tbh . I stayed there for almost one hour when I came out my ear was almost blocked and all I could hear was ringing, hissing. I thought I would be fine by the time I wake

Platelets & Metastasis. Low Molecular Weight Heparin.
Additionally, unfractionated

Just found out about my AN
Hi all I'm posting here because honestly I feel a little alone and don't know where to turn (my wife has been fantastic but can others really understand what I'm feeling?). I got diagnosed with an AN a few days ago after months chronic (yes, I mean 100% of the time) feeling off-balance and a little sick

HELP PLEASE
I was told that I basically had Antiphospholipid Syndrome and told this would be the reason for my miscarriages, I was told to take low dose Aspirin and in the future if I did want to continue trying for a baby I would have to have start on
heparin
as soon as confirmation of pregnancy, but then there

Medications and Sweets Syndrome
I was given
heparin
to before the procedure to prevent clotting as one had formed where the hole in the heart was being repaired. Unfortunetly the
heparin
caused the Sweets to rear its ugly head and as my platlets plummeted I got worse.

Significant bleed following elective surgery - any thoughts?
They discussed anticoagulation - they were going to give me
heparin
infusions but decided to continue with my usual daily dose of clexane. I’m home now, in intense, incessant pain and wondering what to make of it all.

Reintroducing myself
I inject myself with a treatment dose of enoxaparin (
heparin
) every day, I’m not a candidate for the new anticoagulants as I’ve had arterial clots and my inr (if on warfarin would need to be 3-4). My inr was very unstable on warfarin so it was felt
heparin
injections would be the safer option.

We are new to this site and hope to find some answers thru researching. My husband was diagnosed in 2010 after extensive testing.
Heparin
was the culprit. It presents itself as mimicking Leukemia. That's when I His WIFE decided it was time to take control. He has 9 specialists that are actively dealing with him.

Established Diagnosis of Myelofibrosis
The large hematoma (thanks to a very poor nurse, and the fact Wales NHS does not license injecting
heparin
anywhere other than the abdomen!!) in her abdomen wall is slowly dissipating. White and red cells all seem either normal or close to it.

Prof. Hughes August Blog
When there is a real question of whether to proceed to warfarin, it has been my practice to try a ‘
Heparin
trial’. This is a 2 to 3 week trial of (low molecular weight)
heparin
such as Clexane or Fragmin (I usually use subcutaneous ‘Fragmin’ 5,000 – 10,000 units daily).

Yes, aspirin and
heparin
have an important role, but, as in Mrs Jones case, where the danger of stroke was stalking her daily life, warfarin was the urgent treatment. Warfarin has 2 well known problems. Firstly, its media label of ‘rat poison’ doesn’t help in day-to-day clinical practice.

Hi All, just got back from the hospital after seeing the specialist had a hearing test first the seen the doctor. Not seen the specialist since before my T went potty last January after having it mild for years. He wants me back for a head and brain scan hopefully just checking that it’s nothing else

Which alternative to warfarine?
So he is making it clear to all concerned with my welfare, that I need
heparin
injections while they stop the warfarine prior to the ops. Also my potassium and Sodium levels are very low. He advised to stop the water pills. Mind don’t know how I will react to that.

TSH suppressed = Blood Clots? 3 clots in 3 months after starting thyroid meds (t3/t4). What to do?
I'm currently on low-dose
heparin
for my last clot. I'll be off it in a couple of weeks, so I have to decide what to do. Stop my thyroid meds and continue with high-dose vitamin D while keeping a watchful eye via further lab work? Or try to find a threshold dose? Many thanks for any help offered.
