GCA. Pulsatile tinnitus
May I ask what any of you good people know about pulsatile tinnitus. Do you consider my GP should see me, or at least write to me or speak to me on telephone. When I recently started hearing my heartbeat in same ear that GCA symptoms started I called my rheumatology dept & was seen. Had blood tests

My 65 yo HWP has had dysphagia added to his list of symptoms a few months ago so has been put on thickened water etc to hopefully avoid aspiration pneumonia. I feel like the nagging wife as I’m all the time telling him to drink more water as he seems to avoid drinking it now as he struggles getting

Why it’s a good idea to use your Kardia etc regularly
It’s a saga but will make it as short as possible! I have paroxysmal AF, big nuisance but I don’t usually have fast episodes any more, take Apixaban anticoagulant so I put up with it. On Friday afternoon while quietly looking at a book an episode started. As usual pretty nasty for first two hours but

Strokes, ET, treatment options
Dear All, I’m a 37-year-old male. Two and a half years ago, I suffered a stroke. At that time, in the emergency room, my platelet counts were 844, 698, and 737. The doctors did not pay any attention to those values. MRI scans show that I had quite a few silent strokes in the past, around ten. After

Thyroid dysfunction and neutropenia-linked?
good afternoon all, Just out here confused and feeling alone so thought I’d reach out. Feel like once you’re referred to a specialist your GP ceases to have an opinion! saw private Endo few weeks ago who stopped Carbimazole due to neutropenia. If you look back at previous post you can see my results

Test results..
My mum had her blood tests and for the first time since she was diagnosed with ET her platelets are within normal range. She is taking Hydroxyurea.. The only issues the tests show are slightly lower white cell count and low hematocrit around 36. Are these side effects of the medication?Thank you for

should I be having regular bloods to check on various functions
Hello. A thought recently. I am no longer under rheumatology which my GP knows as they had the same letter I did “can do no more for me as I won’t take methotrexate” yet my prescriptions still state. “Reducing as rheumatology” therefore I think the GP assumes I’m being monitored by them. I’m not and

Lower stomach pain
Hi all. I am looking for advice as I’ve just had a rather underwhelming telephone conversation with a GP about stomach pain. To summarise, I had really bad problems with my back stating mid January. Was put on Naproxen and Ibuprofen gel and briefly (about 10 days) Baclofen 10 mg. I was already on Lansoprazole

retroperitoneal mass
Hi,I have been diagnosed with deep infiltrative endometriosis and adenomyosis. On my MRI is also shows a sub rectal mass and a 8cm retroperitoneal mass. My ca125 blood tests have been between 72-94 but that could be caused by the endometriosis. I had a biopsy of the mass on thursday and anxiously waiting

Hello all, good and bad news :) Good - After a few years of slightly high HDL and LDL readings (as shown), my latest HDL and LDL results are normal.
