MRI after a heart failure possible Takotsubo
I had stents to my LAD in 2015 and 2019 had no pains or breathlessness since till recently when I became more fatigued and breathless on exertion . Was going to ask Gp to refer me back to cardiologist then I had a severe attack of breathlessness and severe central chest pain after a stressful event

Hypogonadism, heat flushing, and testosterone replacement
Hi all, It is almost a year since I had my external beam radiation for Gleason 7 (3+4) PCa (see my profile). So far so good: 4 PSA tests were reassuringly low. I am now almost 82 and I am hoping to deal with my strange heat-flushing problem, which I have had for several years. It predates my cancer

Can diet cause SIBO?
Hello everyone, was diagnosed with SIBO last year after a positive breath test. Took an 8 week course of rifaximin (550 mg, twice a day) and assumed all was well. SIBO seems to have come back this year (positive breath test), and I am repeating the course of antibiotics. This time I've been told to

Neutropenia whilst on Tocilizumab
Hi. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. Diagnosed with PMR and GCA Nov. 2021. For last 2 months I have been on weekly Tocilizumab injections; this followed a further flare up in December 2023 when the entire aorta was inflamed (I have never had cranial symptoms). I was certainly shocked

Worrisome DEXA results
I had 3 doctors tell me not to worry about a 12% decrease in my spine since the DEXA scans are not accurate when bone mass is very low. In addition in my case my spine has twisted and is not in the same position as in the last DEXA. On top of that the X-ray technician mislabeled the scan. For example

blood tests
haven’t posted in a while. Coping on 2 mg a day for a few years. I haven’t had a blood test since before covid. I have requested from time to time but been refused - I guess if I’m feeling ok then don’t worry. Is this usual when on long term steroids? As I get my pension this year I’m sure the general

How's Remission?
Hi friends, it's been awhile since I've posted here. I've been in remission for 3 and a half years. First treatment was Ibrutinib for one year then Obintuzimab and Veneteclax for 2 years. Just to give you an idea of what my treatment was. So my question is, if you too have been in remission, besides

Blood tests whilst pregnant
This is a question after reading posts+research. I understand there is a Def link between underactive thyroid/Hashimotos kicking off whilst pregnant+a link between Hashimotos+pre-eclampsia. Speaking from experience many years ago, for me this seems clear. So, just as mother's are checked re diabetes

Well the acupunture doesn't seem to be helping at this stage, have stopped it and trying reflexology and Low level laser therapy. The GP put me on 20mg Norspan patch from 15....it didn't seem to change the effect on my legs at the higher dose but it made me quite nauseated and sweaty and tired on higher

Advice on Vitamin D, K2 and Folate
Hi Everyone I have recently had a range of blood tests done, unfortunately I don’t seem to have any results for thyroid which they were supposed to do. My GP has asked me to make an appointment to speak to her, so I’ll ask why I haven’t got any results for thyroid and whether the test was done.

Next steps advice, B12D
After completing all relevant blood tests (everything fine apart from low iron and 165 ng/L) I have completed my 6 loading doses 2 weeks ago and generally do feel some improvements, especially on the faster heart rate, that has subsided significantly. Since 2003 this has been my 3rd loading dose program

Understanding blood test results
I was diagnosed with CLL a year ago and am o watch and wait. My blood test results are apparently still good but I’d like to know how they compare to normal ones. Thank you.

Newly Diagnosed with High Cholesterol
I’m an otherwise healthy 53 year old who had a PSA blood test, and while that was thankfully clear, I was told I had high cholesterol (above 7.5). I’ve been put on a statin and have started a healthy eating and increased exercise regime. I consider my diet was pretty healthy anyway but have cut out red
