Monitoring
His
haemoglobin
was very low and last week he had to have a blood transfusion. I feel he has not been treated well but would be grateful for other's views and advice on how often most people are monitored if they continue drinking. Thank you.

Haematologist’s unsupportive B12 response
In a recent pathology test, my gastroenterologist was concerned with my low
haemoglobin
count and a high reticulocyte count. She mentioned that although I’m low in ferritin (40) I’m not yet needing an iron infusion just yet.

Low dose aspirin
Looking back on past blood tests I noticed that since I was put on the low dose aspirin, due to being diagnosed with angina at the beginning of last year, my
haemoglobin
levels have dropped a bit although not to the point of being anemic until now.

Should I be pushing for further investigation? Help appreciated ❤️

haemoglobin
level (XE2pb) 32.5 pg [27 - 32] - Above high reference limit Coded entry - Serum folate level (42U5.) 5.8 ng/ml [3 - 20]; At levels 3.0-4.5 ug/L, consider other causes of macrocytosis but if; clinical suspicion remains high, consider a trial of therapy

Fatigue, anaemia and chest pain
In my pre-op they found I had low
haemoglobin
but folate, b12 and iron were all OK. I would expect the fatigue to be all the time if caused by the anaemia. The GP is repeating my bloods tomorrow.

Post-Covid lung issues - what to expect?
I've had blood tests (nothing out of the ordinary for me - I already have lupus - except just above normal mean cell
haemoglobin
level). ECG borderline (normal rhythm but low voltage QRS. The GP doesn't seem concerned. I've not had the chest XRay back yet.

Low B12 but Negative Parietal Cell Autoantibodies
Also, in 2 months my ferritin has dropped from 61 to 32, bottom range is 30 so I’m effectively iron deficient again, although my
Haemoglobin
is top of the range. My blood cell count is over the top range too, 5.31 (range 3.7 - 4.8).
