is this PMR
morning, I have now finished my 2 year Prednisolone taper for GCA. I was under Chetan Mukthyr. However much pain & stiffness I was in he always ruled out PMR as I did not have every single symptom, my tapering was never altered in the 2 years. Every day now I wake up to stiffness in fingers, buttocks

pain pump
Hello MBC Fighters! I went to my pain management Dr. he gave me lyraca and morphine for my pain, it has helped a lot. Going for a CT next week he thinks it’s a pinched nerve. He wants me to have a pain pump put in. It automatically puts pain medication in my body and then refil the pump every two

Scoliosis
Does anyone else have scoliosis and MPN jak2. I'm in so much shoulder pain and neck pain. Have tried a lot of pain killers, not very helpful. Wondered what other people took.

Experienced with spinal cord stimulators?
Hello all, Hoping to hear some positive experiences with scs. I’ve had chronic pain since I was 17, for about 15 years now. And now my wife and I have a 6 month old baby, and I’m just totally, totally wiped out. Was diagnosed with stress fractures in L4, had a surgery that made the pain 10x worse

Doctors perform kidney transplant on awake patient
Doctors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago have performed a kidney transplant on a patient who was awake the whole time. They say the technique used updated anesthesia methods which may now be used for more patients who would be considered too risky to go fully under, which is the standard

Is TMS working?
Don't know if my treatments are helping me or not because I am having so many physical complaints that have reduced my quality of life to zero. Chronic dry eye which the Xiidra drops are not helping. 24 hour a day pain from new dentures (can't eat anything but yogurt) and a burning pain in my inguinal

Inflammatory arthritis & pulmonary embolisms?
After years of x-rays on multiple joints (looking for osteoarthritis) & countless blood tests (looking for rheumatoid factor) - all of which returned negative results - I was finally diagnosed with Seronegative Inflammatory Arthritis in January. My Rheumatologist first tried methotrexate and then leflunomide

Pain update
I went to the pain dr thus morning. He thinks I have a pinched nerve. Ordered an MRI to be done next Tuesday and gave me nerve pain medication and a lower dose of morphine and it doesn’t make me sick. The nerve pain has subsided to where I can function. The good news is he doesn’t think it’s anything

Is musculosketetal condition associated with PMR
I have not written on the form for a while but would like your thoughts on the following: On Sunday night and all day Monday I had chest pain especially when breathing in, and both shoulders and upper back were sore. It was still very painful on Tuesday so I phoned GP and was told as it was chest pains

Arthritis and P.A
Today the g.p. has told me that the mri I had shows arthritis in my upper back and neck. He says its likely to be osteoarthritis rather than rheumatoid arthritis. I told him I have pain every day and it's bad. I also have pain in my hip, elbow and hands. He said to have more blood tests and see the physio

Vydura tablets
Has anyone tried Vydura (rimegepant) either as a migraine preventative or as a migraine treatment? What are your experiences of it? What are the side effects? Is it effective? I have tried many migraine preventatives, none of which are currently effective! I use rizatriptan and OTC painkillers as migraine

seems my hands started hurting within days after starting taper from 5 to 4 mgs of pred, coincidence? i have been on 4 mgs now over a month or so, since pred is anti inflammatory, considering the 4 mg increase for few days to see if pain relieved, but even if it is arthrits wouldnt increase help with

Pain relief during Period
I have daily pain throughout any stage of my cycle all day everyday. I recently started taking codeine and amitriptyline when it got to point I couldn't cope anymore. This was about 3 weeks ago. It doesnt remove the pain its still bad but takes a small edge off sometimes and I figure I needed to give

I’m back😁. Used to be Dtech.
Been a while since I was last on here. I didn’t go on a lot unless I could help with anything. So jock update. I’m now happily retired. Dog walking and playing golf. Going on occasional holidays. Had a week in Seville to celebrate my 70th birthday. January I had a bad hip. Thought it was just a strain

Tapering
It is some time since I posted anything about my PMR journey, but want to share my recent tapering experience. I have been on prednisone for 4.5 years and struggled over covid lockdowns being able to talk to anyone, gp or rheumatoid, when I was having what I thought were flares of pmr when trying to

Caution: regarding medical procedure to insert a gel to protect organs while undergoing radiation
I’m 73 and I recently had this procedure done and it seems to be working well. But a word of caution. I’ve had some severe back problems where 3 vertebra are pinching nerves for several years. Typically the pain is sporadic and only a 3-4 out of 10. I have in the past had a couple very painful bouts
