psychological problems since heart bypass
hi all, please can anyone offer me any advice on how best to support my 70yr old father following triple bypass surgery. He is having frequent nightmares and panic attacks following surgery. He has never suffered with his mental health before. Is this normal?what shall I do?how can I support him?

I want to say sorry from the medical profession
Hi all many of you have read my story but for those who haven’t a quick recap. Totally out of the blue quadruple heart bypass 7 weeks ago then a heart attack 5 weeks ago, I also found out I had a heart attack probably about 10 weeks ago, so obviously I’ve still got a long way to go with the physical

Tastebuds
It’s now gone more than five weeks since I had a triple heart bypass and my tastebuds are still messed up. From what I’ve read this happens in a minority of cases and is usually caused by anaesthetic rather than post op medication. It’s getting me down slightly, since I’m finding fruit and wine, especially

Over all they are good...I had a 2x CABG aged 34 in January and the report from the scan shows I have 1/16th of my heart not getting

Use of ED ring
Hi All, I'm a new member to this group so I apologise if this question is a common one. Due to health reasons (hypertension and side effects from meds) I have suffered from ED on and off for years for which I used Cialis (20mg) which was usually effective. However, couple of years ago I was diagnosed

Statins and coffee
I've just a read a line in a piece supposedly in the Daily Express that says coffee might reduce the protective effects of statins. I don't drink lots of it - usually no more than 3 - 4 in a day plus a tea of ordinary instant coffee plus the occasional small ground coffee from a coffee shop, plus a normal

Do I need to be checked out
Hi I had an AF episode a week ago and then went into fast Sinus with a heart beat of 140. 6 days later I went into Kings for a routine endoscopy for my 3 yearly verecies check for my liver cirrhosis. My heart was still tackicardic. First they could not get the camera down my throat due to severe swallowing

medicine just dropped, no doctor consult
it’s a year since bypass surgery and my repeat prescription has Ticagrelor missing. I talked a receptionist (can’t get even a doctors consult phone call until 9 August!) Has anyone else had the same … receptionist told me that Ticagrelor was only to taken for 12 months but you would have thought a doc

Does anybody here take Isosorbide Mononitrate 60 mg twice a day ?
Had a 3 X CABG 7 years ago, I’m now a 64 years old, male. Everything since then has been fine, until recently, as I've now started to get angina attacks in the early mornings whilst asleep, and if I exert myself (like walking to the shops). I had to go to A&E when using my GTN spray did not work on

Feeling ‘flat’ a year after bypass
I am a year post op after an ‘out of the blue’ heart attack and triple bypass. I have also been a Type 1 diabetic for 42 years. I had an unremarkable recovery. No problems apart from a wound infection months after operation when I also had COVID. I wasn’t really ill then either. My life has returned

Help again please. I have had PMR for over 2.5 years and was taking 4 mg Pred daily. I started with TMJ which was eased with Ibroprofen. A week later I had sore eyeballs and the headache was further up my head. I have all the symptoms of GCA so had my Temporal Artery Biopsy yesterday. All went well so

Any suggestions for an (online) support group?
Hi, my partner recently had bypass surgery and we are looking for an online support group. Would you have any suggestions? We are in based in London, so any groups here that meet in person would also work. Thank you!

I started off fine but as the gradient increased my heart rate obviously increased but the rate wasn’t massive around 110 the problem
