***15Months So far so good***
Good morning all my Brothers. Had 15 month exam yesterday Doc says all numbers look good and I'm feeling okay. I got my Xgeva shot and we talked about new treatments on the Horizon that sound very promising. I don't think I will be the recipient of any of them due to the red tape they will need to ensure

Xgeva???
Worried about starting Xgeva...yet another drug with scary possibilities There are some really good bone density increasing, strengthening, calcium algae products out now, what about that instead? Need to decide! 🙏

Firmagon vs Lupron
I was started on hormone therapy last fall after exhausting all other (USA) treatment options. Initially I had monthly Firmagon shots in my belly (ouch!) and both my PSA and testosterone went close to zero. After two months my MO switched me to Lupron. Since then my PSA has been steadily rising. I wonder

metastatic bone pain from advanced PC
Can anyone who actually has it please describe for me exactly what metastatic bone pain feels like. I've got prostate cancer. No doubt about that. Gleason score from biopsy 5+4=9 bilaterally. MRI report says among other things "diffuse inhomogeneous marrow signals of bony pelvis...correlate with bone

Gut fat after first Firmagon shots
Got the initial double shot of Firmagon five days ago. Site pain is long gone but now I have what I guess is the predicted swelling but just looks like a big blob of belly fat across the two injection points. Have been applying regular ice packs which seem to shrink it temporarily but the fat returns

Music, Music, Music!!
I graduated last week & during my journey through Couch to 5k, I just had Jo in my ear, but no music. The challenge I had was that in between her encouraging words, I would fill the void with negative thoughts 'This is so hard', 'I'm going to stop when I get to that tree' etc, etc. I never did stop,

Re-sensitizing Zytiga and Xtandi
Over time many of us will grow resistant to Zytiga and Xtandi. I thought I'd share some of my experiences on how I've managed to re-sensitise Zytiga. Since we only have a given amounts of bullets in our belt to fight PC we do of course want each one to last as long as possible. Zytiga worked beautifully

With good Zytiga response, do I really need Lupron for adjunctive ADT pre-Brachy?
Five weeks ago, started adjunctive ADT in prep for HDR Brachy in a few weeks. Scholz at POS recommended Casodex, Lupron, and Zytiga together. Due to delays in approvals, and whatnot, the first 3 weeks I was on Casodex alone, dropped PSA from 33 to 21. Then added Zytiga+Pred for last two weeks, and PSA

Why two tests?
Mikes PSA has risen from 2.0 to 3.5 in the last 2 months after an initial decline in Xtand. The PSA has been slightly rising since it’s Xtandi nadir of 1.0 in September. They are having him stay on it while they do scans to check for progression. He had a full body CT scan with contrast last Monday and

Shoulder pain - replacement or keyhole debridement surgery ?
Hi all, finally saw the surgeon regarding my shoulder. I have been offered the choice of two procedures- full shoulder replacement or a keyhole surgery to remove the diseased muscle tissue and repair what they can. My ball joint isn’t fitting properly in the socket, up too high at the top and space at

Dad had his orchiectomy 6 months ago. He lives in India. He was diagnosed with PSA of 64, bone Mets (stage 4) and Gleason 9. He was put on casodex and zolendronic acid (bone medicine). His 3 months check up after orchiectomy was 18, so he continued with the current plan. On His 6 months check up, the

Stop Casodex if on Lupron and Zytiga?
See my profile for more details. I've been on Casodex + Lupron + Zytiga for about 3 months. PSA is decreasing fast. During recent appointment, my oncologist said I can stop taking Casodex. I was a bit surprised because I've read that simultaneous Casodex (50mg tablet 1/d) and Lupron (injection 1/3 mo

Does having bone mets while on Lupron and Zytiga mean castrate resistance?
My father had a bone scan done and it came up clean. 4 days later he had PET/CT scan done and these are the results that came back. "No metabolically active neoplastic disease. However, sclerotic lesions such as in the thoracolumbar spine, right posterolateral 10 rib and right posterior ilium could

Hi All, since I’ve had spinal
fractures
, I’ve folded over at the waist a bit, which is very uncomfortable. It seems that this happens. Has anyone found any way to help this, or is it just something that you have to put up with. Any advice welcome. Ty.

Steroid injection for OA in shoulder
I experienced severe pain in shoulder at 8mg of Pred, and increasing dose had no affect. An X-ray showed bone on bone OA. I continued with taper now on 7mg. and shoulder pain has virtually gone. I think it flared up with too much use on recent holiday, and existing conditions do tend to assert themselves

Firmagon
Just got back biopsy results: Gleason 5 + 4 = 9 bilaterally. PSA 14.8. "Not good, not good," said urologist, a man of few words. He recommended Firmagon injections every three months to begin tomorrow (Friday). Apparently this drug is relatively new here (Thailand) and had to be special ordered. Anyone

Thinking about Starting Xtandi Question
I'm new here....been on Firmagon since my diagnosis July 2015 (with Gleason 9 right side with Advanced Prostate Cancer with possibly 3 to 4 bone mets) and then changed to Lupron Injections every 3 months starting July 2018 (with gradual rising PSA from 0.05 on 9-29-16 to now 4.75 on 3-27-19.

Has anyone been prescibed levoquin during chemo? And how do you watch your loved one go through all this pain with advanced PC?
My father is on hospice for stage 4 pc as well as aortic dissection with anyursym. He has lots of mets to spine to the point of a comlression fracture. I believe levoquin caused his heart issue. The fda just released this medicine can cause this rare issue. When i got up this morning my father asked
