Confused
Prescribed
Flecainide
and Xarelto. No real AF for a week, then started again, heart rate kept dropping to 42 ish - back to emergencies. Asked if I could go back on Sotalol as it had worked well previously and this time it has had no effect, if anything made it worse!

Long term effects
Since being prescribed

Taking Responsibility for your Own Health & Treatment
I was extremely concerned I was reaching the point where I was becoming permanent (I think I would have been had I stopped
Flecainide
). I finally took matters into my own hands.

New attitude
My AF is annoying but I am confident I'll be OK during an episode, and I realise that I worry more about the
Flecainide
I am on than the AF itself...

Flecainide - is daily or PIP better?
But I'm just wondering if anyone has tried BOTH methods of taking
Flecainide
, and what worked best for them? Thanks :o)

Two weeks post flutter ablation
Since then I have had AF every other day- relieved with
Flecainide
, until today when the
Flecainide
worked for a few minutes and my heart went into flutter again. I took beta blockers given prior to my ablation and it controlled it in 3 hours.

Calcium channel blockers no good for vagal AF - Dr Sanjay Gupta
He talks about vagally mediated AF - near the end he discusses medication and recommends
Flecainide
but says that calcium channel blockers/antagonists (such as Verapamil) can actually make it worse. Well!

Normal concern or unnecessary worry?
Fortunately, over the past year the
Flecainide
has been effective at controlling the PVCs within an hour, but now the effect has started to wear off within a few hours, which calls for an extra dose of
Flecainide
-- resulting in an increase in unpleasant side effects.

Ectopic storm - Dr Gupta's advice
I gratefully took my
Flecainide
and Bisoprolol this morning and silently thanked Dr Gupta for his wisdom. I hope this can help someone else to cope.

Tachycardia
Hi all, I have known PAF and have been prescribed
flecainide
as PIP. However, when I saw my cardiologist for the first and only time (I have been discharged back to my GP), I forgot to tell him that I have pretty regular tachycardia.

New here, but not new to AF and ectopic beats.
, and we discussed possible treatments for the AF - ablation or ‘pill in a pocket’ (100mg
Flecainide
). I’ve had two more AF episodes since, the most recent being on Monday 30th October. That left me completely ‘wiped out’ - spent three days on the sofa feeling awful.

Afib now permanent so would it be safe to stop taking Tambocor (Flecainide)
Hello, For the past 20 years I have been taking Tambocor to control Afib however my heart has now gone into from four days on normal heart beat and six days of afib episodes to having Afib full time with no respite. As the medication has no effect I am thinking of going off the tablets as they are

Headaches post ablation.
I wonder if it could just be my meds (
flecainide
50mg x2 and apixaban 5mg x2).

Pausing Pulse
I am taking 100mg
Flecainide
daily and 2.5mg Bisoprolol. When my heart seems to pause there is a sort of tremor before it starts again. So far I have never felt ill with it, just scared, and I have experienced it before, but it seems to be the main feature of my latest heart incident.
