What tests did you have when on heart meds long term?
I was on
Flecainide
and Coreg for three years and had no follow up at all and I am wondering is that normal? Thanks for the input Patrick

Experience of coming off Flecainide.
Recently I posted about my Cardiologist saying I could come off
Flecainide
. I was on no other meds). Have been on it since 2010. I had months ago reduced from 2 x 100mg to 1 x 100mg which was fine. The last few days I have gone on to taking half a tablet 1 x 50mg.

Atrial flutter Not Afib
At the time i was subscribed 2 x 100mg of
Flecainide
. After some years due to not having many episodes I rightfully or wrongfully reduced it myself to 1 tablet a day. I still didn't have many episodes and cycled like mad without any real problems.

Alcohol
I always take a
flecainide
pill but it did worry me. On the 5th Jan, I decided to not have any alcohol for a while, I have now gone just over two weeks and have not suffered a single attack. Coincident? I don’t know. I have a cardiologist appointment on 31st Jan so I will put it to them.

So what would you do?
All episodes were quickly stopped using
flecainide
as a Pip. Whilst I knew I was in AF, I could function OK but I cannot deny the great feeling when NSR returned. My EP now says he wants to do a second RF ablation under a general anaesthetic using the CARTO mapping system.

Monitoring patients on Flecainide
Has anyone on this forum, who is taking
Flecainide
, received monitoring or testing? Apparently, exercise can augment the toxic effects of
Flecainide
, whereby a prolonged QRS interval (caused by the
Flecainide
) may lead to potentially dangerous arrhythmias.

Flecainide again sorry
Two questions really. I am now on 50mg twice a day. No breakthrough episodes since reduction but still get occasional times when I just have to lie down for about 20 minutes as overwhelmingly fatigued. Am either increasingly unfit or flec is contributing to tachycardia on walking up hill with slight

Possible ablation pending
Questions: If
flecainide
keeps me in NSR is this a ‘cure’ which eliminates the need for an ablation? There are hints in some of the posts of more serious side effects of
flecainide
, what are these? I’ve probably read the answers in posts already but there’s so much to take in.

Is my afib going away?
And I have
flecainide
and propranolol as pill-in-pocket. So I'm not taking any daily meds except for lorazepam to help my crazy scary mind. Being said, without any daily meds, I'm running 49 days without an episode (longest time since diagnosis). Is my afib going away? I'm just looking for hope.

Palpitations, Bisoprolol and Flecainide
At the beginning of December I had my second AF episode (went to A&E) which reset itself the following day but my Cardiologist prescribed me 50mg of
flecainide
twice a day.

Managing unavoidable triggers in adrenergic AF
Had probs with
Flecainide
and AFlutter. Not tried Propafenone. Done most of the lifestyle things, not able to exercise as much as I would like, that always starts off a long episode. Not really got the time to meditate, do take the MagCitrate, BMI 18, no caffeine. Gut biome super healthy thank you.

Does nighttime breathing cause AF
Cut a long story short, I have worked on lifestyle changes to control AF for nearly 4 years (and in the meantime am on
flecainide
); my last hurdle (that I know about) is to sort out my sleep.

Reducing flecainide?
I've taken
flecainide
for about 3 years and it really helped with my ectopics. Lately though they've been building up again. I'm worried that my body has got used to this dose so it's not effective any more.

Sleep Apnea and Arrhthmia
However, I continue to get ongoing and disruptive PACs which are now only controlled with a low dose
Flecainide
/Metropolol combo First, given what I’ve learned recently about OSA, I’m surprised that my cardio/EP medical team never once recommended getting a sleep test to assess whether I had sleep

Beta blockers vs calcium blockers
First step is to stop the
flecainide
but stay on the beta blocker. I am on a very light dose of beta blocker (i think its 1.25 mg - i break a 2.5mg tablet in half).

Rhythm control drugs after ablation
I am open to using
Flecainide
again if the EP suggests it. So my question is, has anyone safely used a rhythm control med after ablation, that had caused a problem before the ablation? Thanks.
