Flecainide
I have been taking
Flecainide
for the last two weeks since AF returned. I have now developed a dry tickly cough which is keeping me awake and making me feel even more exhausted. I am asthmatic so prone to coughs but have not had any other symptom such as sore throat.

GP or nurse for meds?
I'm guessing the next step will be more beta blockers, or
Flecainide
as my last ecg showed some bradycardia. I'm not sure who to contact re meds as I'm not due to see my cardiologist til September, and i don't think a gp or an arrythmia nurse could prescribe

Starting to get me down
I was taking 100mg of
flecainide
in the morning and at night for a week or so and was free of AFib but then had 3 of them while I was taking it.

Alternatives to Flecainide for keeping Afib at bay
I have been taking
flecainide
for the past 2 weeks or so after using it as a PIP. My EP and I are still trialling the frequency and dosage to get it right.

Word of caution
A couple turned into a few and we had a fantastic evening. 200mg of
flecainide
before bedtime (all my Afib occurs lying down) and off I went to sleep. Cue waking up at 0400 feeling like absolute death with acid reflux and awful wind.

Refused cardioversion after 3rd episode of AF and not tolerating medication
I was sent away with a prescription for
Flecainide
and Soltalol and told to see my GP within 2 weeks when the medication runs out. I have mild asthma and had been told previously to avoid beta blockers. I started the medication just over a day ago and feel awful.

Afib progressing
I was using 200mg of
Flecainide
as PIP which calms the Afib in about 2 hours or less. I went for a private cardiologist appointment and he recommended I move to 100mg of
flecainide
twice a day with 100mg taken in addition if I have an incident during this time.

flecainide
before bed.

The Big 3
With
Flecainide
, this has kept me AF free for 8+ yrs but being complacent on any of these (which can and has happened several times!) gives me that pre-AF feeling and I rapidly revert to the norm before an episode can start.

Flecainide converted my fibrillation to flutter
I started on 50mg X 2
Flecainide
a few months ago after 10 years of no treatment and the effects have been life changing. However the fibrillation had now been replaced by flutter and I'm beginning to feel almost as bad again.

Flecainide
Anyone know anything about the long term effects of
flecainide
? I mean over a 10 year period perhaps!

Disappointing experience with cardiologist appointment today
Since last time I saw him I have had
flecainide
induced tachicardia and pacemaker fitted. Advice he recently gave to my doctors was to suggest Digoxin to take alongside BIsoprolil although I get terrible side effects with bisoprolil and don’t handle the digoxin very well.

Post ablation
I’m on
Flecainide
200mg and blood thinners. I thought I might get the odd flutter but I feel worse now than I have done for quite some time. Does this mean the ablation has not been successful or is it too early to tell? Thanks

Digoxin
Hi Long story but After a few posts last month when I explained that after Covid I was getting more AF bouts I was told today that I’m in permanent AF and after consultant signs off letter to doc I will be taken off
flecainide
, and will be prescribed Digoxin along with my usual 10 mg Bisoprolol.

Mind-Map of Lone AF, Thyroid, Gilbert's and Autism
Yet I have had no AF or call to use it or my PIP
flecainide
since. Because another plank of my road of discovery was N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC).

Hello, just started taking
Flecainide
for AF and I am feel poorly, breathless on exertion, weak, fatigued. The doctors seem to know very little about this specialist drug and they say my heart is adjusting and this will ware off in time.

What happens next?
I was taken off
Flecainide
after the ablation, but the arrhythmia nurses told me recently to take it as needed until I have a Holter monitor later this month. It doesn't seem to make any difference now when I take it, my pulse is still changing from irregular to regular and fast.

Commercial Airline Flight Triggering Afib
He said my symptoms were likely caused by the high altitude and reduced oxygen level and suggested I take 50 mg of
Flecainide
which I had with me as a pill in the pocket. I got on my connecting flight and about 15 minutes later my heart rate subsided and I began to feel normal.
