Flecainide/Paxlovid interaction
Has anyone who is on
Flecainide
been prescribed Paxlovid for covid? Did you stop or decrease dosage of
Flecainide
? My understanding is that the drugs interact.

I am taking Apixaban 5mg twice daily together with low dose
Flecainide
(50mg x 2 daily) and Bisoprolol (2.5mg daily). The latter to offset any possible side effects from
Flecainide
!! I have been in sinus rhythm since April 2021.

Coming off Flecainide (for PVC's) and possible Ablation for Teenager
My daughter (14) is going to be weaned off
Flecainide
soon to see if her heart has 'fixed' itself after suddenly starting to misbehave in April 2021. She was in Bigeminy at 13 years old with a PVC after each regular beat and had some bouts of irregular rhythm.

Of course I realise I may have caught a cold or flu so need to eliminate each out, but is this a known side effect of
flecainide
? Thanks

Moving into permanent Afib?
Ok, I’ve had paroxysmal Afib for 3 years, I take
Flecainide
2 x 100 per day with an extra 100 if needed, (which is very rarely,), plus take Rivaroxaban this has worked really well so I’ve not had any major problems.

Exercising with arrhythmia
I had an ablation last year and am on Diltiazem &
Flecainide
. Following mild exercise I experience an irregular heartbeat but for some reason the symptoms then reoccur at night, even if the exercise was many hours before.

Flecainide and side effects
Hi I’m very happy on
Flecainide
as it’s eliminated my ectopics. I take it with Bisoprolol. However I seem to be getting excessive sweating especially on fairly mild exercise. Think it’s listed as a possible but unusual side effect. Has anyone else experienced this?

The Story So Far
Controlled for years with

Going abroad on holiday with AF!?
So when I went away on holiday I was on

EP review update……
Potted history, diagnosed 2014 with lone persistent AF, responded well to a CV later that year and remained in NSR (with occasional help from
Flecainide
) until Cryoablation in August 2016.

Abnormal serum c reactive protein level
Hi all, newly on
flecainide
(3 weeks) so have gone in for first blood tests. One of the abnormalities is a high CRP reading (15 against a normal range of 5-10). I had an ablation four weeks ago.

Does anyone take Flecainide 25 mg twice per day?
I know that the min dose is 50 mg X 2 daily but I was just curious if anyone split their pills?

Can medication be reduced after a certain time with no problems?
I take
Flecainide
, Bisoprolol, Amlodipine, Ramipril, Atorvastatin and Warfarin!!!! It would be nice to try and wean myself off or reduce as many meds as I can, especially the more powerful ones if I no longer need them.

Ectopics and Digestive Difficulties
Two years ago I had started having continuous PACs until my cardiologist put me on 100 mg
Flecainide
twice a day, which stopped the PAC's and kept me in Normal Sinus Rhythm (NSR). I also take 25 mg Carvedilol twice a day. I have had several colonoscopies over the years.

Flecainide and heart rate
Based on your experience does
Flecainide
(Tambocor) raise heart rate. My cardiologist has recently put me on 90 mg of Dilzem twice a day and 50 mg of Tambocor twice a day. I was hoping this combo may help my heart rate to go down to the sixties.

Flecainide and stomach
I am prescribed
Flecainide
Acetate 50mg bd for AF. US websites do not generally put any limitations on how to take the pills ...but UK ones often do ...and my pharmacist always puts a label on the box saying "Take on an empty stomach, ...1 hour before a meal or 2 hours after a meal".
